A couple of years ago, we saw a story about a lady who has been diagnosed with ALS. She had to turn over the cooking duties to her family...and then created a cookbook and sold it. Just last night we wondered how she was doing etc. Today we got notification that volume 2 is ready. Here is a link to her website. You can see a short video there explaining everything. We found the recipes good and easy to follow. I hope some of you decide to purchase one also. (FWIW, I have never met her, nor have any connection to the family.) www.roxanneroundtreecookbook.org/

Thanks so much for sharing. Beautiful Mom (& family) and pretty incredible!
We were just having a discussion last night with our DD's about ALS and what they were "really" doing as to the "Ice Bucket Challenge"...thankfully they both could articulate characteristics of ALS and what a horrible disease it is. BUT, they weren't really appreciating that while taking the challenge was great, they should also be donating. We asked them to think about a donation amount (from their savings) and we would add to that amount and donate as a family this weekend. Now, we'll also be buying a cookbook!

THESE are the stories people need to see and hear!!! It puts a face to the terrible disease...the ice buckets have raised money BUT this is more meaningful to me.

I am hopeful the ice bucket challenges will bring more stories like this out! I have a friend who was diagnosed with ALS last year at the age of 29 who is thrilled to see all of the challenges and it has encouraged her to get her story out there. I will check out this cookbook later, thank you OP for sharing.

I wish people would take a few minutes and look up one fact about ALS to relay to people in their ice bucket video, link to important info or story or something. Anything. I know people who sit around watch hundreds of these and I just don't get what good that does.
Oh and thanks for the cookbook link THAT is doing something for someone and I love that the purchase will give a direct help to someone. THAT is doing something.

You're talking about it now and regardless if people aren't posting a 2-3 minute video along with their challenge, hundreds of thousands of people have now learned about ALS.
