OK, a definition: PhAD = Photo A Day. Was wondering if any one would be interested in participating in a challenge here to take one photo per day in the month of June? Who wants to play??? No pressure to scrap them (unless you want to, of course). If there is interest for prompts, I can search out some on the web for the whole month. Would probably start with Whacky Holidays, but I know there are lots of other lists out there. I could also come up with a list of prompts that might work for people, and post them all at once or one a day like I did for 30 Days of Thankful. If you want to play, please reply to this post and if there is enough interest, I will list you in this post. Then when June starts, we can go one of two ways: I can start a new thread for each day including a prompt and you can respond by either sharing your photo or telling us what you snapped. OR: I can set up one thread for the month, and you can respond by "claiming your spot". You may even want to copy & paste the monthly list of prompts into your post. Then each day you have a new photo simply edit your first post (your spot) and attach it. If you have the list there, you can cross that prompt off? Haven't got the whole plan together in my head yet. Wondering what you think? Suggestions and ideas are MORE than welcome! So far we have: grammadee Sam Elsabelle @elaynef LisaDV warrior1991 woodysbetty ecvnj58 freeatlast JaneB sleepingbooty pbwand maybe linda nicolep Scrapper100 Anyone else?

I'd love to - primarily because I have enough going on to be travelling around etc so I like the idea of no prompts (personally!!) - it's been to long without the camera out and about....I really like an informal 'theme' for this as well as it's hard to keep up with what I feel I 'should' be doing!! That's just me, though!

Yes! I try to include a photo a day layout in my album once or twice a year and haven't done it yet this year. I've never used prompts before so I can't say if I'd follow along with them 100% of the time but it sounds like a fun idea.
I just wanted to add that I vote for one thread. I think it would be nice for everyone to see their list all in one place in case they want to scrap the pictures and easily include any info they posted.

No pressure, linda. No worries if you miss a day or two or a prompt or two. No need to share the pix. Just fun with the camera or phone. I have a list of 30 prompts which I think I will post near the end of May along with some links to similar photo &/or scrapbooking daily challenges for the month. That way we can have something to "shoot for", but also not feel the need to get a photo of something specific--say, a bird--on a particular day. Also my prompts are mostly open to lots of different interpretations, so again most photos will fit in. If you take a photo and it doesn't seem to fit with any of the prompts, just let us know anyway and say it's "off prompt". Who else wants to play?

I am also a maybe. My plate is pretty full right now but it would be fun. I used to love to do them years ago.

I'd be in if I don't have to follow prompts.

Sounds like fun. Not sure if I will follow through as I have kind of lost my creativity lately but maybe this will help jumpstart me. I like the idea of prompts as long as we can go off prompt lol. So I am a maybe.

Great idea, grammadee! I'm trying to fill the back half of my monthly TN with stories and photos but I often struggle. I didn't take photos or the month was pretty quiet, etc. Can't wait to see the prompts. What a great way to spur creativity when my brain says "I got nothin' for today"!

So I think what I will do is the end of this next week, I will post my list of 30 prompts plus some links to some other places with photo &/or journaling prompts for June. I will tag all the people who expressed interest in that opening post, so you will be notified when it is set up.
I will invite you to each "Claim your spot" by posting in that thread. Then if you like, you can copy & paste the list into your post. When you take a photo that fits one of the prompts--or any photo--you can share it or describe it by editing your claim post.
I will also set up a June Photo Chat thread to talk about our photo hunting experiences. We could also share any pages we create with our June photos there as well.
That way the people who need/want prompts will have them; the people who feel more comfortable taking photos for their own scrappy projects or to commemorate their own events that month will each have a way to play within their own comfort zones.
Hope that works for everyone. Anyone else want to join us?

I might be tempted to join but I'd need some things clarified before I maybe-commit. 1. Will there be two parallel projects in the end? One for the prompt followers, one for the PhaD June Chat thread? Seems a little sad to be breaking the group in two. 2. Do we post our photos online every day? If so, can we skip tbe days when people are featured if we're quite privacy-minded? I've been looking into making the most of a 9x12 album I have and thought a no-rules no-scrappy-perfection logbook for the summer would be a fun project. This June PhaD project could potentially fit in there...

I hope you can join us, sleepingbooty. To answer your questions: 1. One challenge, one group. I thought it might work to keep one thread focused on the photos and the other one there for discussion and projects that arise from them, but I guess if could all be in one thread. Just getting the format clear myself. 2. If you can't share a photo b/c of privacy issues, just tell us about what photo you took for that prompt. The point of the challenge is to get those pix taken. One other thing about rules. The point of this is to TAKE a photo each day, but you don't need to stress about posting it that day. My hope is that we will go out, be busy, have fun, but then when we have the down time to do it, we can share our photos and adventures here. make sense? And I have a question for you--and everyone else. Which do you think would work best: to link all your photos into your sign up post? Or to link each daily photo into a post that day (or a later day when you get a chance to post?

Also I don't know if we could edit and link so many photos into one post.

I'll give it a try It'll probably be incredibly boring, buy hey ho! The first week might be different - my husband is on holiday, it's our 16th wedding anniversary and we've a General Election. I can hardly wait...

Count me in, grammadee ! I probably won't be the most prolific poster but I'll give it my best try. The one post per day option also seems the easiest and most viable for a 30-day process to me. It'll probably be incredibly boring, buy hey ho! The first week might be different - my husband is on holiday, it's our 16th wedding anniversary and we've a General Election. I can hardly wait... Don't worry! I'm also working through June so my participation will be boring too. No lovely long summer holiday on the horizon until July. Good luck with election madness!
