I can't believe I missed this thread! I was actually lining my dresser drawers today! I got some paper at the Goodwill and went to town. I have always lined my dresser drawers. Not sure why. I also did a bit of ironing today. That I know was from being in the military and having to iron everything.

I think they did it back in the olden days so the wood wouldn't snag your clothes - but I don't think there is a need to anymore - unless you want to!

Why special night underwear? Really? I'm sure you can guess why people have special night time undies

I don't but a lot of older people I know do (not saying it's a old people thing just what I've noticed in my life)...they line them with wax paper, kraft paper and I've noticed thick gift wrap paper. I don't like dressers. I don't own one, and probably never will...but I do have a small lingerie chest that I keep all my underpinnings in and I do line the drawers. Not with smelly stuff, but with wrapping paper from special occasions like baby gifts from the boys, fiftieth birthday gift etc. I am 50 so I am not sure if that counts as an 'older person'...

Why? What do you imagine would happen? Drawer cooties? Why, yes! Drawer cooties! I swear <fanning self> you non lining people are absolutely uncouth! I bet you guys don't own an iron either... <I kid!> My gosh. I probably shouldn't even admit to this crowd that I set up my ironing board, turn on a movie or catch up tv and go to town ironing my weeks laundry all at once.

I do the same! Get my iron full of distilled water and prepped, I've got my can of Fabric Finisher (starch) and my ironing cloth (for delicates) all ready to go, too! No one leaves my house in un-ironed clothes!

I don't line my dresser drawers, but on a somewhat related note I do store several bars of Irish Spring bar soap in my towel cabinet. I looooove taking out a fresh, fluffy towel and burying my nose in it for a deep, deep whiff!
