If your page is covered with acrylic product, do you also use acrylic medium as your "glue" when you're sticking stuff on your page? I would think my ATG would be strong enough to stick to the plastic paint on the page, but maybe there are some tapes and glues that won't work so well?
In your experience, what adhesives are good on acrylics, and what should novice MM scrappers stay away from?

I use Ranger Multi-Medium, which is an acrylic gel medium. Never fails.

I use Ranger Multi-Medium, which is an acrylic gel medium. Never fails. Thanks moraie , that's what I learned way back when, but I know there have been advances in products since I was young, so I thought it was worth asking. Do you ever use any kind of dry (non-liquid) product, like any sort of tape? There's not much tooth to the paper after it's covered with product, so I don't know if anything will stick.

I use my art stores brand matte medium. I see in videos and such a lot of adhesives used. I think your atg tape would be fine.
Whatever you have on hand. I now use matte medium in card making and whatever paper crafting I'm doing. I filled a fineline with it and it's my go too. Love that stuff

I mostly stick to Multi-Medium, Scrapbook Adhesives brand and Glue Dots. If what I'm gluing down will be at least partially in contact with naked paper, then I don't worry about using any of those. If it's something heavy and completely sticking to coated paper, or if part of my surface might release (like foil), I stick to Multi-Medium. Glue Dots are pretty awesome and have never failed me for normal use, but they're more prone to release on un-sealed topical applications like foil or gold leaf or glitter. (Multi medium acts as a sealant and glue both in those situations.) When I used to mail a lot of pages/projects, once in a while I'd have something stuck to a Glue Dot come loose, but rarely, and I don't think you can blame the Glue Dot for not winning a war against UPS or Fed Ex handling. (Multi-medium would have held in the same situation, though.)

Glossy accents for me. Works AMAZING on all embellishments on top of mixed media work. If I am sealing a page or want to work over other media, I seal with Ranger matte medium but for glue it's Glossy Accents.

I use gel medium, Collage Pauge (cheaper than Ranger's Matte Medium), and glue sticks. I don't use any kind of tape in my art journals, so I don't know if they would work. If you do try them, I think you should make sure that the paint/ink is completely dry first.

I like glossy accents ( if you patient for a long dry time) or sookwang (scor) tape. Princy Cardmaker | Small Crafts Store Owner www.kraftgali.com

It depends what I am adhering. If it is something thin, like tissue paper or even printer paper, I use a thin coating of matte medium on both the paper and the substrate, then stick them together.
For heavier papers, I use gel medium.
Occasionally I use the glue dots that come on strips of waxed paper. The glue on those is very aggressive and works on things like buttons, flowers, etc.
I don't use glue stick on acrylic paint.
