Not making them for family. Being paid to scrap someone else's stuff. I've started a scrapbook for my boss' daughter (it's really for him 😊). She just finished her freshman year of high school and is on the varsity soccer team. It was really intimidating to start. I finally got the cover page done and I'm about 5 pages in. I find that when scrapping this my style is very clean and formal. Lots of matting and clean lines/linear. There is no journaling, just newspaper clippings and photos from the girl.
I'm only charging him for the supplies i buy. I refuse to charge him for stuff i pull out of my stash (Thickers/embellishments). This is the only way it will get used. I'm actually looking forward to dusting off my Scan n Cut to make some titles!
Has anyone else scrapped for others and did you find your style very different when it's not your stuff?

It is a little intimidating. And yes, I find that for others I tend to clean up the lines and definitely tone down the experimenting. When teaching writing, I always told my students they had to shut off their critical brain and just tell their stories, only bringing in their editor side when the draft was complete. And for the most part I do that with my scrapbook pages. But when I am doing something for someone else, I find I edit each step as I go.
Good luck with your project!

I have scrapped for money and find it difficult to make any money really worth the time, but hey, you can use up those supplies. I would never scrap without a set price like $100 inc album, protectors and 20 or 25 pages.
I would rather have some money than no money I scrap a simplified version of my style.
But the archival spray alone for those news articles is at least $35.

No but it sounds interesting. Not sure that I'd ever take it on though - I have little enough time to do my own!

I'm not doing it for $$ since he's only paying for supplies. The labor is gratis because I enjoy it and it's a break from my own project life album. Mostly i was surprised how conservative i am in style since it's not "my" scrapbook.
