The tutorials and instructions say to just load the HTV without a mat. However, I am cutting a small design for a baby burp cloth. To cut the small section would mean I would be left with a piece that would either be wasted, or would need to be on a mat for cutting. Is there any reason you can't use the carrier mat? I have cut regular vinyl on a carrier mat with no problem, but I wanted to check here first. The HTV I'm using is more expensive than the vinyl for tiles and glass blocks.
Thanks!

If you are using a small piece, you can totally cut it on the mat. Just make sure your cut settings are for cutting on a mat. That's how I've cut HTV in the past.

I pretty much always use a mat for that even for bigger pieces. It just seems to work better that way.

I used a mat for each of the four HTV projects that I did today, and it worked well for me, thanks!
