I broke down and did the ice bucket challenge and all my comments on FB were lol or people generally saying nice things. One friend commented something like wow, that wasn't very much ice, good thing you didn't do it at my house. She's one of those that always has to do things better. Oh well, I did it, I donated, I'm glad. And I talked about 20 of my coworkers into doing it as a group on Monday.

Yep, there's one in every crowd. Just ignore her, you did a great thing and should be proud!

I won't be doing the ice bucket challenge, but after watching the link to Anthony Carbajal yesterday, I did see where his friends set up a YouCare site for him personally since he is no longer able to work. That one took PayPal, so I donated right away. I will donate to the ALS site when I have my bank card in front of me.
To your one "friend" - pffftttttt (thats me sticking my tongue out and blowing at her) And once she finds out you got 20 people to do it, she will get 30. At least that will help the cause. You know she is more than likely envious of you, right? That's why she has to one-up you at every turn.

Yes, a local radio personality did it, then was on the radio the next day and read some of the negative comments about his 'method.' Never mind that he did it, and donated $$. It wasn't enough ice, not a big enough bucket, blah, blah, blah. It was almost comical. Never mind that he did it in ATLANTA where it was 90 degrees. Apparently people don't realize that ice MELTS.

So many people just have to knock others down anymore. It's really too bad. Thanks for donating and I hope you had fun

Personally, I think that if the water is COLD it's far more torturous to have less ice and more water - the more ice you have, the more it just bounces off and you avoid the absolute soaking....and who wants to see someone just getting ice flung at them! You should tell her you did it the brave way!

Well, I slammed the guy who poured a glass of water with no ice in it over his nose and was so proud of his accomplishment, but I'm very proud of you and all your friends.

If your friend always needs to one-up you, I suggest you challenge her to show you how it should be done. Tell her you did the ice bucket, AND made a donation, AND recruited 20 other people from your office to do the same. Challenge her to beat you

I just donated to Anthony Carbajal's site also. How awful for him to be taking care of his mom all the while knowing that you're going to be in that same condition!

The same thing happened with the Vin Diesel video. He used just ice, didn't look like he got wet at all, but he did it and I guess donated. Boy did people get upset over him not having water in the bucket! Your friend is probably envious of you.

Some people are just very competitive. Why not harness that for a good cause? Make them work to beat you.

My son was so bummed-he did it, we donated, and none of the 3 people we nominated did it.

My DS16 was challenged by a few people, so while he is visiting his grandparents in the north of Scotland this weekend, he decided to up the ante a little. He posted a video of him jumping off the harbour wall into the North Sea! And yes, even in August, the North Sea is icy cold. He challenged three of his friends to either do the same, or stick to the 'normal' challenge. They were all very impressed!

Fun sucker!!!
I love Scrapbookwriter's suggestion to challenge her to do it better! That way you get to passive/agressively call her out for her smart arse comments AND possibly generate more donations to the cause. Win/Win!

She isn't worth you time - don't even bother. Congrats on doing the challenge!
