I'm a mixed media artist and not a scrapper, and to be honest the things that intimidate me are arranging things on a page. I'm terrible at that. peasapie do you have any tips or videos for all those that are a bit intimidated by mixed media? As for arranging things on a page do you tend to gravitate more to linear or layered/messy? SaveSure, I can suggest lots of things if I know specifically what someone had in mind. Donna Downey has a lot of free videos on youtube using stencils, acrylic paints, posca pens, and rubber stamps, for example. That might be a place to start for someone interested in trying out various materials in a different way. As far as me and arranging, you know how with scrapbooking you put photos here and there, and a title, and sometimes some embellishments of some kind? (I think that is still how it's done with scrapping?) Laying that out so the eye moves around the page is tough for me, and it's the same thing with art when there are several items in the composition. I would say I probably mean more of the linear look.

peasapie have you tried looking at sketches? I know scrapbookgeneration does a great job of linear layouts and they have some free ones with measurements to boot. Maybe start there until you get the feel of how you like things to go?
