It's a rainy end to the Memorial Day weekend. Went grocery shopping with the kids this morning. Cooking sausage now.
The highlight of the day, thus far, is Herr's Deep Dish Pizza flavored Cheese Curls.

I just opened up my new sewing machine and need to teach myself how to alter some clothes. I've lost weight and really don't want to spend money on clothes right now. It's cold and rain is on the way. Every 1/2 hour or so I stop to cry for a bit...my Dad is nearing the end of his life 😢😢😢

KelleeM I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. My DMIL is also near the end of her life. We have been stretched pretty thin caring for her but it has also been an honor to care for someone who spent most of her life caring for others. DH is over there right now. Possitive thoughts to you for the best possible outcome for your father.

I woke up at 3:30 with a stuffy head. Couldn't sleep for a few hours. Got up, didnsomething productive and went back to bed. Glad I fell back asleep. Slept til 10. I needed it.

KelleeM, I'm sorry about your dad.  It is so hard to watch a parent die. I just recently altered some jeans and it was difficult to do the pinning myself while wearing the jeans but I have such a sense of satisfaction after doing it. I have a couple more pairs to do and I want to do some armhole adjusting and hemming on a couple of dresses. I'm sitting in bed peaing, the covers are pressing on my ingrown toenail, I'm feeling annoyed that it hasn't rained yet and guilty that the poor plants I planted yesterday are having oxygen get to their roots which DH says is bad. Guilty because I was lazy in thinking that Mother Nature would do my job for me.

I've weeded and mulched one flower bed, done laundry, and now I'm reading.
Poor DH has to work today, but I'm just loafing around for the rest of the day.

Dh and the boys went to ride dirt bikes. Again. Thought about going out to watch later but it's too hot. So will probably stay home and clean. How pathetic am I? No social life to speak of! Lol

Our parade was cancelled due to pouring rain. Oddly I'm extremely disappointed. I guess I was looking forward to one last thing me seeing him in uniform.  who knew |

Thought about going to town today to do a little shopping but:
A) Traffic was horrific last year on Memorial Day. So many boats, trailers, RVs, it was nightmarish.
B) Holiday weekends when you're still three days out from payday suck.

OP- I'm so sorry about your dad- Let the tears flow, you deserve them.
My Boyfriend just left to go do some work( real estate) and mow the lawn at his house. I'm trying to motivate myself to work on weeding thru my closet. We are moving toward moving in together and my huge master closet has always been just mine, so I have a lot of things I don't wear or need.

DD graduated Saturday morning and I have wasted most of the rest of my long weekend watching The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt instead of all the stuff I planned to do. At least I'll be well rested tomorrow lol.
I've been an emotional wreck for a couple weeks, so I think I needed the decompression time anyway.
