I'm looking for recommendations for a product(s) that will leave my hair smooth, soft, straighter and protected from the heat when I straighten it. Any suggestions?

Not sure this is exactly what you are looking for, but I use Bed Head After Party. My hair is naturally straight so I just use them to smooth it all out and help with fly aways. Makes it super soft as well.

Are you looking for a product to use every time you wash your hair or a treatment that will last until your hair grows out?
I have naturally curly hair that is very kinky. I just had my annual relaxing treatment this afternoon. My hairdresser uses something called Mane Tamer. It is the same chemical that is used for perms; she just combs it straight instead of using perm rods. It pretty much lasts for months until the hair grows out. It doesn't get it pin straight like Japanese straightening so I can still curl in under when I blow dry it.
If you are looking for a shampoo to shampoo product, my hairdresser recommended Kerastace's Discipline line. I plan to try it the next time I am between relaxing.

I don't always straighten but would like to start doing it more.

I just use Morrocan Argan Oil. Put a little in my hands and rub together, and smooth through my curly hair before using the flat iron. I keeps it soft and smooth after I straighten (even in the high humidity here in Houston).
