Got an email from Stampers Anonymous saying that tonight...so you know...I can wait.... grrr...pressed the wrong button and liked myself....
UPDATE...I received the Platform today and it is great...I got this from overseas...gillyp helped me in finding a store over there for the original that was available to them but not here, thank you gillyp...the site I got it from was...www.craftworldonline.co.uk/ .....
First off it does have weight to it...the clear lid is thick and the hinge is plastic but it connects by metal rod...it is easy to remove by having the lid straight up and just a little pull upward. The lid on the one side it smooth and the other has a grid but you see through it just fine. The bottom part is smooth ( white ) and two magnets were on that part, they are thin and have a great hold to the bottom platform.
The bottom part also has a ruler on the one side and top and I also think it is a thin black strip, easy to read.
The back is a high density foam back and 4 red rubber grippers on the top to grab your work surface. I think if you wanted to travel with this you would be just fine.
I have not tried it out yet just so you know...hope the other design is like this one with little change...hope this helps in letting you know how this puppy barks...lol

This is what I got
Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Stamp Platform Update So, what the heck is going on with the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform I ordered? Good question. Unfortunately, the answer isn't as good.
The General Manager & National Sales Manager were here in our building last week to show us the latest modified Stamp Platform (it is pretty awesome). By talking directly with Tonic Studios, we have been informed that the shipping date had been moved again. Tonic Studios has given us a shipping estimate (we stress the word estimate) of mid-July. We know some of you have been waiting very patiently since April. We can't thank you enough for your patience, as the shipping date has been moved several times.
If you have pre-ordered with us online, we will not charge your credit card until your order ships. If you have pre-paid for one at a show, we will always be glad to refund your money.
We take pride in our customer service and want to keep your informed. We know this is frustrating and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Disappointing but not surprising, unfortunately. I suspected this might happen but hoped I was wrong.
Thanks for the update.

What goes around comes around. That woman will likely have to change her prices to keep up with the competition.

What goes around comes around. That woman will likely have to change her prices to keep up with the competition. Nah, just rebrand them as the "original" stamp press. And then make sure you have influencers who talk about the product as though it were the Rolls-Royce/Ferrari of all stamp presses.

She's been doing that all along with the MISTI... her ego is way too huge and I hope TH takes her down a notch. Every time I look at my stamping desk and see the MISTI it disgusts me. Save

The thing is, the people who support her will always support her, and that's great for her. I would bet the number of her backers vs the number of the non-backers was probably pretty even. Until she started going after DIYers and Tonic. Those two things have put a bad taste in lots of people's mouths, and has probably cost her a lot of sales. Not because people think the Tonic will be better, but purely due to her business practices.
Had she left it alone, I bet people would have bought from her purely to support the "original".

"Hello!
Thanks for patiently waiting for the new Tim Holtz Platform, you're going to love it!
Here is our latest update from Tonic regarding the status of the Platform release date:
June 7, 2017
Tonic would like to give you an update on the situation regarding the new Model 1707e Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. Since the last announcement, we the team at Tonic have been working very hard to minimize the delay and impact this has had on the supply of the product whilst ensuring we can release a product that we can continue to supply in the USA. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize again for the delay and ask for your continued support and patience while we try to get the products into stock and shipped out to you all.
We have been working to modify the product for the release to ensure we do not infringe any existing patents. We hope you will agree when you see the revised Model 1707e that the changes we have made to the design do not detract from the look or function of the product and most people will not notice any difference from the original. Even though we maintain our previous product (which we did not distribute) did not infringe the granted patent of My Sweet Petunia (MSP), these differences have been made to provide further clarity in the situation so we can provide our retail partners clear guidance on the sale of the product.
As we move to catch up with the demand for the product we will be releasing the incoming shipments on a first come first served basis based with our retail partners on when we received the orders. We will be confirming the expected delivery date to each of our retailers within the next 7 days. The first shipments we expect to be dispatched on the week of 09 July with the second delivery to be on the week of 16 July. We are working to improve this wherever possible; however, we want to provide a clear and realistic route to completion. We also want to be realistic that the product will be entering the country during the holiday period which may involve additional small delays. These dates are when we will receive product into our warehouse in California so there may be a few more days to get the product to the partners and then onto the consumers.
We would like to thank all our retailers and their consumers for their ongoing support for Tonic Studios USA Inc. and the support from the team at Tim Holtz LLC. We will make a further announcement if the situation changes; however at this time we will be dealing directly with the retailers so they can pass on the relevant delivery information to their consumers. I really like how they continue to communicate with us even though it continues to be bad news. So many scrappy companies just bury their hands in the sand and ignore customer questions. I think that enrages people more than any delays or problems.
