With a 6.0 earthquake!!!
It's been awhile since I felt an earthquake this big.
So far found one item that fell off a shelf.
Power is out.
Hope all No. CA Peas are ok.

It has just been on our news. That must have been quite a wake up call at that time in the morning! Hope there are no injuries or serious damage from it though.

With the power out the only news I'm getting is on twitter.
This quake was centered just south of Napa which is just over the hill from me and it has been felt all the way down I believe to San Jose and it seems as far north as Sacramento.
Now we are just waiting for the aftershocks.

It woke my whole family up. I thought somebody hit our house with their car. It was very jarring/jolting. No power outages here. We are about 15 miles from the epicenter.

I'm just south of Sacramento and definitely felt it. To me, it felt like a shaking quake more than a rolling quake. I was just falling asleep and it felt like someone was shaking the bed. The ceiling fan was also rattling like crazy. It lasted relatively long too. My dog slept through it all which made me question if it really was a quake, but then he started having a nightmare.

Still no power but compared to what I'm hearing about the damage in Napa I'll take it.
What way to start the day!

Wow, hoping everyone is OK too. We used to live in Napa, and got little ones every now and then, but nothing damaging for our area . They're saying it's the biggest one for the area since Loma Prieta 25 years ago, which my husband was in, and about 10 seconds long. Stay safe!

I hope everyone is OK. We didn't feel it (in the Santa Cruz area) but I'm remembering 1989 and how horrible it was.

I had no idea until a friend texted me to ask if dh felt anything since he's there visiting friends. So I turned the tv to CNN & saw it. They're in San Francisco, so about an hour or so away. They visited Napa on Friday. Finally just talked to him & he said it was like a freight train next to him. He's never experienced this before. We've experienced hurricanes, but not earthquakes!

I experienced my first earthquake when I was in Oklahoma last week. It was a 4 something and I thought it was scary. I can't imagine a six!

We didn't feel it here--on the Placer/Sacramento County line--but my dog that sleeps under our bed was whining a bit before I got up. Maybe that was why?

We live in the east bay but are up on the coast for the weekend. We both woke up right when it hit, but we weren't aware that it was an earthquake, just maybe a bad dream for me. Our daughter and family live near Richmond and were awakened and lost power for a few minutes About 70 people have gone to hospitals

I'm in San Jose and definitely felt it here. It woke me up, but I didn't register it as an earthquake at first. The bed was shaking back and forth {no, not like that... } and I thought it was my 90 pound dog scratching or getting ready to hurl. I got up to usher her off the bed when I realized she wasn't on it. This was NOTHING like Loma Prieta. That one went on forever and the noise and movement were terrifying. My little dog at the time was being bounced back and forth in the hallway like a ping pong ball.

We are about 30 minutes from napa. That's the biggest/longest one I've ever felt- it seemed to go a long time! I was just a kid for loma prietta and don't remember it very well though.
We recently moved baby DD to her own room- this was not fun timing for this nervous mommy! I leaped out of bed to get her but she slept right through it. I, on the other hand, was up for awhile!

It woke DH and me from a very deep sleep. Couldn't go back to sleep for quite a while and slept in later than usual. Didn't know the magnitude and damage until we turned on the tv. So far no damage that we've found. The good thing about earthquakes is they don't last long. Tornadoes terrify me.

My aunt is in St. Helena without power. No damage, but they haven't checked the wine cellar yet. Their house is about 20 miles north of the epi. She said it was worse than any other earthquake she has experienced, and she lived in Aptos during the Loma Prieta in 1989. They just moved and don't have an earthquake kit made up yet.
My mom woke up and felt it 65 miles to the south. Brother is in Santa Rosa and it woke them, but no damage.
