I just watched a little video on NPR about how you can get your pores vacuumed. I'm not big on beauty stuff, but this actually sounds awesome to me. Seems like your face would feel ten pounds lighter with all the crap sucked out! There's no place around me that does it, though. Have you ever had it done? And if you have, or haven't, what are other good ways to pull the dirt and dead skin out of your face?

I have terrible blackheads all over my nose. Do you have a link of where you can have this done? Dermatologist, at home, a business?

This is the video I watched...they said it's cheapest to have it done in South Korea. I googled it for my town and didn't really come up with anything. There are spas that do facials and blackhead treatment, but none that specifically said they do vacuuming. But I would think a spa would be your best chance.

I got excited and started googling and ran into a bunch of pore vacuums you could buy for like 29.99 DYI. Reviews were mixed but not great. And apparently you can easily give yourself "nose hickies" and break little mini blood vessels if you aren't careful and then you need to have some Laser treatment to fix. Sounds like an Intriguing treatment best left to professionals.

Back in the 80's I used to get facials pretty often. They did something similar, vacuuming my face. I liked this the best of the treatments that they did; the rest of it was various creams on and off my face. My face did feel cleaner but i don't know if it was from the vacuum or what. (or if it "had" to be cleaner since I spent so much $ that I really didn't have). From what I remember, it looked like the vacuums that you can buy to clean your keyboard--maybe that could be used on our face?
Anyone want to try the keyboard vacuum on your face and let us know the results???

I have terrible blackheads all over my nose. Do you have a link of where you can have this done? Dermatologist, at home, a business? A sub group on Reddit, called skincareaddiction, has tons of info about this. They say it's sebum in the pores that will never really go completely away. They suggest using chemical exfoliants and oil cleansing method, etc. It's quite interesting and there's tons of opinions and info.

If you Google the term you will find lots of explanations and ways to minimize it, though it is impossible to get rid of completely according to my esthetician.

Thanks.

OP, I'd love it if this vacuum thing worked and wasn't too expensive. I also read that some people use a sonic spatula thing or a little sonic silicone thing with little nubs on it to clean dead skin on their faces. Sorry I'm so vague. I don't remember any names. I guess they are supposed to work like a clarasonic but don't have any brush heads that need replacing. I don't really know anything about it but it might be something to google.

lol. I don't have my glasses on and I read "Poor Vacuuming" and in my head I was thinking it was about carpeting and not getting everything sucked up!
I think it sound interesting and I too had just read about the sebaceous filaments and that you will always have them. I was reading reviews about the black peel off facial masks on amazon. Most of them are from China and other countries and I really don't know what the ingredients are. They seem to REALLY pull stuff off your face, including little hairs and sometimes skin!
A long time ago I had bought a pore vacuum and the strength seemed high (like a pulling sensation) on the skin, but it didn't pull anything out of the pores.

Using retinoids on your face(rx) will make it easier to remove blackheads-- my DS had them and after 6 weeks or so of regular use, those blackheads came out easily.

I'm curious to know what retinoids he used? Rx or over the counter? Definitely RX-- dermotologist prescribed them along with a daily dose of topical clindomycin/benzoyle peroxide in the am. RX retinoids need careful use: 3 days/week, increasing gradually to every night to prevent burning and peeling. It made an amazing difference in about 6 weeks.
