I need more gusto bowls and luncheon plates...but whenever I'm at the store standing in front of the open stock selection I freeze and can't remember what colors I already have.
Wouldn't it be great to have an app that would show me that I have 4 gusto bowls currently and then I can click to see which colors? Doesn't that sound like something that the peas would be on board with?

Just take a photo of what you have. That's what I do for things that I don't think I'll remember like that.

Use Evernote! I have my makeup listed, dies, embossing folders, and books that I've read. I get the photos off the internet. I copy/paste them into the window.
Evernote is on my desktop, laptops, iPad mini and my phone. That way I can view and update when I need to.
Now, what I should do is add my nail polish!! It never fails that I buy a second bottle of something!

I second Evernote! Just started using it for my stamp inventory and love it.

I collect Vintage and P86 Fiesta, and some other vintage colorware.
I have a Word table with tallies of dinnerware by color and item that I update and email to myself after every new purchase (tech "old school") I've pulled it up frequently at antique stores or flea markets, but sometimes internet service has been spotty. It might be hard to count piles of plates and bowls in a photo, but the photo suggestion by PLurker has inspired me to take a photo of the Word table. (Thanks!)

Ok, I haven't enough Fiesta to need a word table.. yet. I keep your idea in mind if and when I do! I am jealous of your collection without seeing it! I've been taking pics of lots of things lately for "reminders". Wandering through antiques, can't decide if I want something, snap to remind me booth, $, item etc. Idea for something to make/craft..snap! My teenage "new driver" daughter left her wallet behind one day and I texted her a pic of her DL, just in case. So many times I wanted to remember idea etc and later thought "I should have taken a picture!'... now I probably do more than needed but that's what delete is for.

Wandering through antiques, can't decide if I want something, snap to remind me booth, $, item etc. Idea for something to make/craft..snap! I do that in antique malls, too! Or I just dictate the booth number and item into my phone. Have you noticed, though, that some dealers now have "No photos allowed" signs? The reason is that someone will take a picture of an item, list it on eBay (for a high enough reserve price to make this scheme worth it), and then come back and buy it if they get an eBay buyer. The nerve!!! It took me the longest time after I got a smart phone to accept that I could use the camera so indiscriminately. Deep down in the recesses of my brain, some Rip Van Winkle synapse still fires, insisting that I'm wasting film...

Another voter for Evernote! I love this app. I use it for inventories of craft supplies, pantry staples, freezer contents. All of my recipes craft ideas, plans are here. I can't say enough good about it.
