Corinne and Demario were naked and in the pool fooling around. The producer felt they were both too drunk to consent to anything but the show wouldn't let her intervene and told her to keep rolling. The producer didn't show up the next day and is filing a lawsuit so they shut down production. Story at TMZ, it's a bit graphic

I shouldn't have read that. Blech! I can't imagine things like that haven't happened before, so I wonder what's the real reason they were shut down.

I mean, they may as well have called the show "Fuck Island." Why is anyone surprised about this?
Alcohol plus a wide variety of mental health issues plus egos plus not-that-smart people plus people too attractive for their own good equals someone getting sued eventually.
Easy math.

If they were both willing, where's the wrongdoing? Nasty in the pool...yes. But misconduct? Embarrassed to say I'm a bit bummed it's been cancelled. This trashy show is one of my little guilty pleasures.

Good grief! Even this old bag waaaay over here knows who Corinne is. Had a bit of a reputation for going for what she wanted.
I am confused though- the young thing who discussed her with me ad nauseam did so to make the point that her "message" (not sure what to call it) at the end of the show was that she was not going to idolise or run after any man, ever again. This was in the context of a discussion with the young lady on valuing herself, which I wholeheartedly supported. So what happened to that resolve?

They wouldn't be the first couple to "hook-up" under the influence though. If someone forced themselves onto the other, that's a different story.

If someone forced themselves onto the other, that's a different story. I think they were more concerned they were too drunk to be consenting to be filmed in that state, and there would be issues after they sobered up.

If they were too drunk to consent to being filmed, couldn't they have just stopped filming? I don't watch the show so I don't know what has happened in the past but as other posters have mentioned, this can't be the first time this has happened.

It sounds like they should have and possibly someone tried but was over ruled. There are a few versions of what happened, but it sounds like someone should have stepped in if it was obvious they both, or one of them, was too drunk to give consent. A producer filed a complaint with Warner Brothers after seeing the footage the next day which led to the shut down. IMHO, the production was cleared out of Mexico quickly to protect anyone from an investigation and/or charges there. insert quote here

According to this TMZ update: What?!? These relationships don't developed organically? They are scripted?! and Interesting that D & C were let go immediately and nothing hit the news until the rest of the cast was removed from Mexico.

SaveSaveSaveI put a hypo like this on an exam a few years ago (although it involved other misconduct, not sexual assault). While you don't normally have a duty to intervene in criminal activity, if you have taken on particular contractual obligations with respect to the people, or have put them in a position where they are essentially isolated from other help, or are in various ways assisting in or facilitating the criminal activity, you can be held both civilly and criminally liable. I don't know enough about this particular scenario, but the shutdown may be to investigate their own legal liability (or, more cynically, to batten down the hatches). Gross.

Oh come on. It's BIP. Of course they're going to get drunk and get into a sexual situation. That's what BIP is all about. The producers keep the drinks flowing on purpose. Doesn't this happen all the time on that show? What changed? Corinne is all about using her private parts to get a man. She has stated and shown that numerous times. I hope they resume filming. If you're going to get half naked people drunk and push sexual situations you're probably not going to see them taking an oath of celibacy! I always cringe, because I think about their parents watching them. EW!

At some point, it sounds like the filming crossed the line to become outright porn. I can see why the producer would have a problem with that, and Warner Bros. should certainly be concerned for a lot of legal reasons, not the least of which is that they are filming in Mexico. The crew needs to have some common sense. Hopefully, there are a few grown-ups in charge when all of this is going on.
