Princess/Molly came over to our house today for her meet and greet. She is adorable! The good thing is, she is smaller that Wili, but not TOO small. They got along really well together. PM showed her teeth a little a couple of times when playing with a toy/rawhide, but did fine after being redirected and taking that item away. They had no issues sitting next to each other getting treats and drank water out of the same bowl. They were quite rowdy the WHOLE time! My hope is that they would balance each other out...PM perking Wili up a bit and Wili calming her down some. She's just a tad over 1 yr old, so it would take a few months, but she would eventually calm down some. I know Wili did a LOT after that 18 mo. mark. We will have one more meet and greet before making the final decision. We need to mull over everything first just to make sure we are making the right choice. Here are a few fun pics and a video of their meeting...video will be in next post...if I can get it to post.

OMG, so cute!!!! I love puppy wrestling matches. haha! My guys are bored with each other now, so it's not too often that they get into a match but when they do it just cracks me up!

It sure looks like a good match - they were having a lot of fun together! So what are your reservations?

Not sure, really, other than just taking on another dog. My DH walks him every morning before work, so it could get a little crazy and I have a 2 seater car. I can always borrow my husbands if I need to take them both somewhere together, so it might not be too bad. The only other thing is, she didn't really grab our hearts the way our other dogs have, but I think it's because we haven't gotten any time alone with her without Wili as a distraction. We will most likely take her, though. She is a sweetie and they did her along quite well!

The only other thing is, she didn't really grab our hearts the way our other dogs have, That right there is key. Don't "settle." Find someone that grabs your heart and then do the meet-and-greet.

Aww that was a great meet and greet. It was better than Abby's reaction to my new rescue, Jaxson when I brought him home. Abby was not happy! Barked and snarled and nipped. But that only lasted two days, now they play, but no snipping or mean barking on Abby's part. Wili got along with PM WAY better than Abby's first interaction with Jaxson.
There is a tiny part of me that agrees with Becky about being concerned she didn't grab your hearts. I know you want that instant 'I love this dog' feeling but I have no doubt that once you get her home and she gets used to you, you will love her with all your heart. However, as much as I would hate to see her stay at the shelter, I would hate for you guys to have regrets. I honestly don't think you will have any. There is something so special about rescues that the love she will show you will be contagious and you'll love her right back.
Good luck with your decision. I have a pretty strong feeling PM will win your hearts!

My corgi pup tuned my six year old sheltie back into a pup herself. She lost about 5 pounds and after three and a half years, they are still the best of friends. Lots of herding going on.
