Waiting an entire week until the next one :-p My husband is watching and enjoying it so this has become our Saturday night date. Last night's was sooo good, their tension is building (the feet under the table scene!). I've been watching them several times just to tie me over till the next week.

I wouldn't want to watch with kids or my mom. - - - - - - - I know, right? Last week, I was all "It can't have been an hour already". I DVR'd last nights episode to watch tonight.

What I don't like about Outlander is that I can't watch it. I don't have Starz and don't want it. And I can't figure out how to watch it somewhere else. I have no idea which sites are legit and I don't want to download files so that I can watch it. And I don't want to enter a CC, even if it's "free" to watch. I don't mind paying to watch it, but I have no idea if these sites are legit or it they are going to drain my bank acct.
So I'm about to cave and get Starz, which I still don't want. I want to watch Outlander and that's it.

Ok. Sorry I butted in, but when my DH refers to it he calls it "your Soft Porn show." Which is probably true.

Ha, my dh refers to it as lady porn (and he is apparently enjoying lady porn every bit as much as me ). But come on, the feet under the table, the examining of the wound-those scenes- Attachments:

Oh yeah, I've read all the books, including the Lord John books and the novellas. Well, all but the newest and I'm 5th in line at the library for that one.

I opened this thread thinking you were going to complain about the constant beatings. Anyone else bothered by the fact that every chapter in the book deals with someone being beaten, remembering being beaten, recovering from being beaten, thinking about beating someone or worrying about being beaten? Or do they just skip over all that in the show?

I agree. I Hate having to wait until next week to see the next episode. I think they are doing a fantastic, wonderful, amazing job with the series!
As far as the beatings go-that was what it was like back then-this is a historical drama and they are trying to replicate what the period was like. They aren't going to "pretty it up" for our sensitive eyes". Actually so far it's been fairly mild from what I've seen. When Jamie was being beaten by Black Jack they showed Jamie from the front with his facial expressions. They could have just as easily show it from the back with the whip flying, Jamie's bloody back and the bloody whip. That's what I expected. To tell you the truth I was a bit disappointed that they watered down that scene so much. I like reality. I don't like violence. But if that is what happened, and the scars on Jamie's back are that deep to prove it, well I myself would have liked a little more reality. Personal opinion.

I am watching it online, on a site that doesn't require a credit card or anything. I've not had any problems with the site so far, and I can say that after having watched seasons 4-7 of True Blood. The site was recommended to me by someone here - can't remember who, but I sooooo appreciate it! Here's the link to Stream-TV, the Outlander page.

I love the actor playing Jamie. I watched the first two episodes on demand last night and am hooked. I don't see DH being interested, though.

I'm loving them too. It's hard watching with my husband though, because since I've read all the books, I know where these characters are "now", or the fates of many of them, or their secrets (like Geilles), and I can't talk about it or I'll spoil the story for him. It's difficult to bite my tongue .

Thank you SO MUCH for the link to the episodes!!! I can see what I will be doing later this week. While DH told me I could add Starz to our cable subscription, but I don't want to pay that much per month for it, and was holding out that it will be on DVD eventually.

I watched the first episode today at Starz.com. We don't have Starz on our dish, so I was really glad to find it on-line. I'm about 25% into the book, so I don't mind watching the episodes a few weeks late.

My only problem is that some of the accents are so thick, I have to turn the volume up to understand what they are saying.

Do you have a link? It looked to me like the itunes podcasts are the tv series, episodes 101 and 102, but I didn't investigate any further. I have tried the free streaming sites before and ended up giving a credit card number to a nefarious site. Luckily, I was able to dispute it right away with no harm done. I learned my lesson on that one.

My husband will be glad to know he's not the only male watching the series. On Saturday around 8 pm, he asked, "Do we really still have an hour to wait for the Outlander episode?" My friend, who doesn't have Starz, comes over after work on Monday to watch our recording, and my husband has already asked if there's any way we can wait for him tomorrow because he wants to see this week's episode again.
You know they're doing a fantabulous job when our DHs are just as hooked.

If I paid for four episodes on iTunes each month, it would cost me $12 so it's about the same. I've been watching it on Starz Play on my computer. I can watch it whenever it's convenient for me. I like that about it. I could watch on my iPad or laptop, too, even if I'm away from home. I also noticed several movies I'd like to see that I missed so I'm okay with the cost. And I've loved every episode so far. I don't remember the last time I was glued to a show.

Starz is the only premium channel that I actually watch regularly. I liked the white queen mini series and I watch the Davinci's demons one, Camelot, and now this. I think they are doing a better job with my 12$ a month than the rest.

I even tried accessing the site from a different browser on my computer, and then from work in yet a different browser, to see if it worked differently than on my browser/computer, and each time it was free, no account or CC needed. I wouldn't be entering my CC, either!
