I think this might be the coolest thing ever. No fancy equipment, just some strict specifications on what you use in order to make the magic happen. She has a few other videos with the specs on the materials, but this is the actual stamp making process. She's using liquid polymer, glass cut to size, vinyl (in another she uses two pieces of parchment paper with the image on both...you need it as black as possible for the reaction to occur), a couple sheets of glass, craft foam, tape and a nail curing heat lamp. I want to give it a try!! Her link for the polymer (from her blog) doesn't work, but the type she uses is specified there as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmKF4RVkF3U

I have the Theresa Collins' (I think it was her, may have been another scrap person) stamp maker that came out 7-8 years ago, and I made one polymer stamp set from it, but it didn't work very well. This reminds me of that. I should dig it up and see if it's still usable. I basically just wanted to make a ton of phrases that I could use on my cards and in my scrapbooks. The stamps weren't etched very deeply so I never ended up using the stamp. Maybe watching a YouTube video or two will help me refine the process.

I'm struggling to find the polymer...so if you find a source for it (she uses i55HV Super Clear), let me know!!

Will do. She made an update video that cut down a bit on the goopiness: I am slowly working on her newer videos. This one is paused at the start because I just don't have the attention span right now to sit through it. I really really really really want to give this a go, though, but given the polymer the hardest component to find, I want to be able to source that BEFORE I worry about anything else. I'm hoping that the glass thickness isn't important...I asked on one of her videos if I could use cheapie glass from some inexpensive pictures frames so I didn't have to pay to have glass custom cut for me. Hopefully she'll reply back in the next couple of weeks.

I found this site, too: www.rubberstampmaterials.com/photopolymerstampresin.aspxNot sure if the pricing is comparable (at first glance, it appears to be), but they have other supplies for stamp making as well. I guess all the difference comes from calling it a gel. I tried liquid and then resin which yielded no usable results. Gel seems to be doing the trick.

This is a process I am sooooo not interested in doing. Much like the make your own enamel dots out of perler beads. That ^^ By the time I buy all the equipment and take time to cut things with my Cameo, test out multiple stamps to sort out quantity and drying times etc etc I'd rather just either make some Cameo cuts, print some sentiments or buy some well made stamps!

I think it's almost like a hobby in itself. I think it's a pretty neat idea and would be fun to do. Definitely not something to do to save money on stamps at retail, but a fun process and if you really want certain images from digital format to be a different size (or the physical version isn't available anymore) this would be a great way to make that happen.

Will do! Most likely, it won't be for a while...gotta save up to get all of the supplies. The UV Lamp is not super expensive, but pricier than I thought it would be. The polymer itself is pretty expensive, too. The rest...NBD.

I've always wanted to learn how to make my own stamps. Thanks so much for sharing!
