Which free font sites are safe?
Once upon a time I downloaded a free font, but it came with an unwelcome bonus: ransomware. I would like to avoid a repeat of that experience.
Thanks so much!

I've always used dafont.com and never had a problem.

Da font. The Hungry JPEG usually has a free font every week. I've also downloaded from Font Bundles.net, Creative Market (6 free goods every week) and Free Design Resources.net but I do have a Mac which means I'm less at risk

I've had no trouble with dafont. They have a huge selection of fonts. They may not have a particular font you are hoping to find, but they have a lot of good ones.
When searching for a deal on a desired commercial font, I have occasionally seen a site that claimed to offer a commercial font for free. I am betting those are the sites to steer clear of. If it is a commercial font, it won't be free, not legitimately.
Dafont does sometimes offer a sampler of a commercial font for free, but it is very limited and not the full font. That is not the same as a site that says they have the font itself available for free.

Are you looking for personal use or commercial use? A lot of the fonts on Dafont are only for personal use. For commercial I would go with FontSquirrel.
