I have tried all of the reset options I can find to no avail. My kindle is not even a year old, and I did not buy a warranty for it. After reading / googling everything I can find, I think it is either the charging port is bad or the battery is dead. Either way, I am not tech savvy enough to try to fix it myself. Does anyone know where I can send it to be fixed? Should I see if Amazon can fix it? (any links?) Thanks.

I would contact Amazon to see what they have to offer.
Go to the Amazon page and down at the bottom right click on HELP. There is a button to click for device help.

Before you give up all hope.... have you tried a different charger? A few years ago I thought my Kindle was a goner so I bought a new one. For some reason that I can't remember now we later tried hooking up the old Kindle to the charger that came with my recently purchased one and it worked! A few years later my husband is still using that old Kindle! Good luck with yours and if need be I think you can contact Amazon about yours.

I am pretty sure there is a 1 year warranty on the Kindle from Amazon without having to purchase anything. Contact them.

We have 2 kindle fire HDs and both boys have had charging cords go bad. Luckily, new cords are pretty inexpensive.

Thanks all. I did buy a new charger / cord, because that it one of the things Google suggested. It hasn't worked so far...

I'd contact Amazon. I'd its not even a year old it should be under warranty.

I did contact Amazon, and they are sending me a new power cord adapter for free, and refunding the money I spent on the new power cord. Hopefully that will work, but at least now they are aware of the problem I'm having. I am hopeful they will replace it if this "Fix" doesn't work. Thanks for the good advice

I hope they do replace it if it doesn't work properly.
I hate when stuff like that happens.
