I received the Platform today and it is great...I got this from overseas...gillyp helped me in finding a store over there for the original that was available to them but not here, thank you gillyp...the site I got it from was...www.craftworldonline.co.uk/ .....
First off it does have weight to it...the clear lid is thick and the hinge is plastic but it connects by metal rod...it is easy to remove by having the lid straight up and just a little pull upward. The lid on the one side it smooth and the other has a grid but you see through it just fine. The bottom part is smooth ( white ) and two magnets were on that part, they are thin and have a great hold to the bottom platform.
The bottom part also has a ruler on the one side and top and I also think it is a thin black strip, easy to read.
The back is a high density foam back and 4 red rubber grippers on the top to grab your work surface. I think if you wanted to travel with this you would be just fine.
I have not tried it out yet just so you know...hope the other design is like this one with little change...hope this helps in letting you know how this puppy barks...lol

Not just round the corner local, but the nearest good store, and the one I visit most often. It's very near Glasgow airport, and I'm going to pop in after I've dropped DS off at the airport on Wednesday. I will tell them I "know" you!

What does it do exactly? ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/huh.jpg.gif) More importantly DO I NEED ONE??? That's the critical thing here. I hope you like your new craft toy and will share some projects with us.

Did I need one? No. I had previously succumbed and bought a Misti, which I really like, but I have not liked what I have read about the way the company conducts itself.
I went to the site mentioned above and when I saw that the platform was only £29.99 on special offer, my finger may have slipped when it hovered over the 'buy now' button. Oh well. *Shrugs*

Oh well. *Shrugs* I have NO need for one since I have several that I made for myself with 8x10 acrylic sheets and metal hinges with a WRMK mini magnetic cutting mat clipped and washi taped to the inside of the bottom sheet. I bought the "Super Magnets" from Home Depot and True Value hardware and they are the exact brand she uses. My version works fantastic for me and no way would I buy a misti just because of the way she behaves. Sorry, she did NOT invent the process, she just did a little improving and Tim did a LOT more improving upon the concept. I do like Tim's version even without her antics. If I was "rich", I'd go ahead and get it even with the $22 shipping but I'm not so I'll let someone that doesn't have one get it because I'm sure it will go out of stock quickly.

I'm a little bit excited! Last time you told me to try this site it was sold out, not long after you had ordered yours. This time my order has gone through. I'll be interested to see how long it takes to get to me here in Australia. I'm not in a hurry but am hoping this will make me use my many brand new stamps a lot more. Thank you! Corinne

Well, I ordered it a couple of days ago and it is here.
Impressions? I love it. It is much more robust than the Misti and does a first class job. No faffing about with foam pads and the like, you just flip the lid which takes a nano second. And no annoying religious quotes, which always annoyed the heck out of this devout agnostic.
Thumbs up all round

I have one ordered. I can't wait!
I used my Misti today and tried to use some of the other components I got for it. Well, mine isn't square so the parts don't work. They won't sit next to the frame. What a nightmare. It made it harder to stamp without the extras.
Oh well.........time...........
