Well, it's been a glorious 24° here today, and that is about the maximum I am comfortable with. More of the same tomorrow!

The Weather Channel says that the Pacific Northwest is going to have a cooler than normal summer. Much cooler than normal for July. Well f*#k that! We had the wettest winter EVER and no spring to speak of and now this? That is just too much. We had 7-10 days of beautiful weather late May-early June. Today it is grey, gloomy, damp and 62 degrees (17 celsius). WTF? It is JUNE. Or, as we call it here, Junuary. I'm sitting on my bed and we have the windows open, and it is a titch brisk, lol! At least the days are long right now. I desperately need the light for my health and mood. And I love summer. I could happily live somewhere that was warm all year. Maui comes to mind. Want to switch?!?!? 106° for the next 4 days... As long as I can have air conditioning, then yes. Let's split the difference. Send us about 20 degrees. That'll make it about perfect for both of us.

gillyp - I'm really sorry to rub it in! No you're not! I am absolutely revelling in it, I must admit but I would love for you to be able to enjoy it too 😀

It is about 13C outside right now and it's kind of chilly in a wonderful kind of way. This is March weather. It's not warm enough to open the windows. The house is only reading 65F which is 18C. That's chilly for indoors! Again, not complaining. I can always put on more clothes!

At least we have air conditioning in the shop - yes, in chilly Scotland - the heat generated by the freezers makes the chocolate melt without air con so it's always a steady 19 deg there. Maybe we'll get a summer shortly.

I've bought myself a cool mat dog bed to keep me chilled in bed. It's wonderful!

Oooh, that sounds nice! I do love really hot weather and actually look forward to days in the 40s (over 100 F) but the idea of a nice warm 24 - 28 all year round would be lovely. As long as the water (ocean) was warm as well. It's surprising how much better you feel when you wake up to sunshine in the morning, makes such a difference I think. Absolutely! I love getting up on a summer morning when it's already warm. Sunshine and warm weather really affect my mood in such a positive way. I remember on the first really nice day last spring I bounded into work all happy and one of the girls said "You can tell it's spring, look at the smile on her face!"

That's true here too. It doesn't get totally dark at night time and I LOVE that. So much better than winter when we are lucky if we get 6 hours of daylight. It would be nice to even out though wouldn't it? We were driving home last night after 11pm the sun was setting. In December it will be dark by 4:30pm. I like 15 to 25C but really I don't care about the temperature as long as it's sunny. It's always sunny here, even in the winter, even in -40.

It's cracking flags weather 27C for us today, yesterday was baking out on our deck. My husband's built a weather station but the sensor is in direct sunlight and recorded 42C in our back garden. We get sun all day out there, I should rent out the space for sun worshippers. We sat out from about 5pm, and even had a little barbecue.

We went straight from winter to summer. We keep hitting the 90s with a heat index of up to 106F (41C). It's way too early for this, and I'm really sick of the severe storms it spawns, which almost always happen at night. I'm in tornado country and can't sleep during night storms. I'm a total zombie lately thanks to the weather.

I've just glanced at the BBC weather forecast and they're showing these high temps (28+) in the south through until at least Thursday!! I love that thought! I will not complain about it being a tad too warm in case it goes away and on the whole I do enjoy it. Sleeping hasn't been a problem and it's lovely being able to eat outside and stay out there until late, to wear my nice summer clothes that see the light of day too infrequently and to banish our long grey autumn/winter I know not everyone enjoys the heat though, so how are you doing? I love these little slices of how the rest of the world lives. lol. My dh said to me this morning "hey it's going to be cooler today, about 81 and breezy." I just googled... 28 C = 82.4 F, just slightly hotter than our cool day. lol Although, I wouldn't actually classify 81 as "cool" only "cooler compared to what we've had the past few days".

Okay, it's seems none of my ancestors came from a hot country because I'm not coping well with this heavy heat. That water filled bin looks good at the moment. Got in the car and it registered the heat at 40 degrees.

I'm Canadian so no converting and since this was a UK thread and they were using celsius anyway I thought I'm not converting to fahrenheit like I do on the the US threads. But -40 is the same either way = too damn cold I can roughly convert most temps above freezing.

There is NO breeze at all here and the office I've been working in is baking hot during the winter let alone now. Nice to sit out, though so not all bad!! OTOH, was checking the temp on my app and saw was 31 degrees here - swiped across and saw Las Vegas (set on there because we've been a couple of times recently) and it's, apparently set to be 47 degrees over the next couple of days - it might be a 'dry' heat, but, damn, I would pass out in that!!
