I can't entirely decide what I thought of it. I liked that we saw where everyone was a few years later, not sure how I feel about who Sookie ended up with. For those that read the novels the series is based on, not sure if you caught the cameo by Charlaine Harris? She was the person at the computer as they were filming Eric's commercial. I thought that was fun.

She ended up with someone we didn't know--just "a guy".

That finale was just as sucky as the ones for Dexter and Lost. First of all - no Lafayette to speak of. Very little Eric. Second of all - making Bill into Smuckers jam when there were hints of him becoming human? So many better ways for him to go out - defending Sookie from those Asian guys (although that scene of Eric dancing in the car was hilarious), go like Godrick via the sun, etc. Third - should have just ended with her walking into the mist. I did like Sarah's just desserts though. LOL Fourth - while I loved seeing Hoyt and Jessica getting back together, their scenes were far too long and took valuable time away from other characters like Lafayette.
Kind of appropriate to see a cameo of Charlaine since her last few books stunk as bad as this finale did.
I loved the characters and the first season was the best, in my opinion. There were several story lines that I enjoyed over the years but some I will just pretend never happened. And that includes the finale tonight.

I hated Eric's ending.
Why did Sookie have to kill Bill? Bill, you POS, don't make the woman who lives you kill you. If you want to die wait til the sum comes up and be toast. Why have her stake you? Ugghhh.

I am disappointed I have read all the books and hated how they ended, so why not be hate the ending of the show!! I did like the flash forward, but I would have preferred they kept Alcide alive and have him marry Sookie rather than some random guy. I had read a spoiler two weeks ago that the Hep V fairy strain was suppose to turn Bill into a human (an extra on the set had leaked part of the script), so maybe that is why it was changed.

I didn't want Bill to die. Thought the wedding was sweet but agree that it took up too much time. Liked the way Eric and Pam ended up. Laughed when Arlene and Holly were talking about Jessica Holly: Wouldn't that be cool (if she were pregnant) - little baby vamp with little baby fangs Arlene: Breast feeding sure would be a bitch though . .

My thoughts...at least it's over. Not quite Dexter bad, but bad.
Eric and Pam were basically the only redeeming part of the show. Eric bopping along to the music was hysterical. The infomercial was awesome.
For the first time ever I didn't give a shit about Jessica and thought the wedding was stupid.
I didn't want Bill to die either.
Sookie ends up with some Alcide wanna-be. Wonder if she is still driving around in the dead man's truck.
Didn't mind Jason ending up with Hoyt's old girlfriend. That oldest kid of theirs looked to be like 7 though and supposedly it was only 4 years later.
I actually felt bad for Sara Newlin, but she does deserve it.

I can't believe they couldn't give at least one scene with Lafayette. The Jessica/Hoyt story pretty much took over the entire episode. They gave it way too much air time. I don't really mind Bill dying, because that is what he really wanted. Sookie always got on my nerves, so I kind of wish she would have died with him.
The Eric car scene was great, and I do like how they wrapped up their story. But I really wish we would have seen more of them on the last episode. Sara being locked up in the basement seemed like a good ending for her. Well, bad for her, but a good way to wrap up her story.
Over the years, True Blood has had some great stories. But the last few years, the show just seemed to get worse. Nothing beat their first season though. And which was the season where Russell Edgington was introduced? That was a great season too. I hated the Maryann and Marnie seasons.

I gave up on this show about 2 seasons ago so I was happy to read the spoilers.
I'm glad Jess ended up with Hoyt.

I thought it was a snooze. They should have spent the whole season working toward a great final episode and instead, they wasted the season with unnecessary BS. They wasted so much time with the wedding, it was ridiculous. There wasn't enough Eric. And Lafayette- the guy who was supposed to die in season one, but they kept because he was such a fan favorite- nothing?? Jessica and Hoyt- that evolution could have happened slowly over the course of the season. Why jam it into a few episodes?
The show was doomed as soon as Alan Ball left. I had hoped they'd get their sh!t together at some point, but it just got worse every year. This finale was such a disservice to everyone involved. SO disappointing.
Good parts of the finale, in spite of it sucking as badly as it did? Little Tara (in the flashabck with Gran and Sookie) was so perfect it was startling. She looked like grown Tara, sounded like her, acted like her. The girl was perfect for that part.
Eric dancing in the car- hilarious.
Sookie didn't end up with Sam- good. I thought that was dumb, in the books. Bill dying made a weird sort of sense to me. Eric moving on with Pam and their New Blood was even OK. Who could Sookie have ended up with that made sense? No one, I guess. Maybe the 'nameless/faceless guy' was best. But that's another thing that could have evolved over the course of the season. Introduce him in the beginning and see the possibility of them ending up together.
I wish the people writing a finale for a well loved show would take notes from finales that have been successful- Six Feet Under, for example. I think that's the best finale I have ever seen.

I hated the ending. From the last few episodes I knew it would be bad though. I should have quit watching a couple seasons ago.

I liked the ending. A lot like Six Feet Under, which was also an Alan Ball series. I like a wrap up instead of a black screen where you have to figure it out yourself.

What happened to all his gentleman chivalry old fashioned views? In the end he made the woman do something she shouldn't have to do. He's a POS. He could just have easily waited for the sun to come up. She could have loved him enough to watch him do it without having to do it herself. They could have come up with an ending that didn't make us hate Bill.

I guess I'm going against the consensus, but I loved the finale. See, the show has been about turmoil and pain, and the reason Nicole and Sam left was to escape all that. The final scene showed that in spite of everything, they do get their happily ever after. I really preferred not seeing who Sookie was with, as it didn't really matter, because it proved what Bill told her to move on. I would totally watch a "New Blood" spin-off with Pam and Eric lol. I loved Sarah being locked up in the dungeon as a blood bag tortured by the ghost of her dead gay vampire husband. Everything she hates LOL!

That was great casting. As a bit of trivia, the girl that played little Sookie in that scene is Stephen Moyer's daughter.

Eric and Pam have always been my favorite.
I loved the New Blood and ringing the bell at the stock exchange, but I hated the very end where Eric was back on his throne just as bored and detached and withdrawn as he was at the beginning.
