I lost my fur baby Memorial Day weekend.( Thank you all so much for your kind words when that happened)
So, there is a fur ball in the corner of the hardwood floor that I won't clean up but today I am vacuuming and repurposing her sleeping area. I dragged the rainbow vacuum out two days ago to complete the task bc she slept under my bed and that is the vacuum of choice for the job. Now I've vacuumed half my bedroom but can't see past the tears to go under the bed. I'm apologizing to her like crazy. I hope she understands.
Her remains are under there as that was her favorite place. She's going to be pi$$ed that I am putting totes with my winter clothes under there too. I know I sound like a whack-a-doodle. I'm really not...just so, so sad. Ughh...
Update...so I promise I am not a crazy person but listen to this...
i dropped my dd off to her friend's house. On the way home, on a very busy road, I see a stray dog. I pull over to check it's tags bc it looks hot and thirsty and a major storm was about to open up. I open the car door and the dog jumps in. SHE HAS THE EXACT MARKINGS MY DOG HAD. This stray was just a bit smaller. I had a bottle of water which she happily drank then laid down in the backseat. So I take her home bc of said storm. Dh opens the door and says "what did you do? Omg she even has the same white patch!" Dog walks in my house like she owns it. Gets my dog's favorite toys out and, I kid you not, when she sniffs her way to my room, she went under the bed! UNDER THE BED!!! When she tried to get in my dog's bed I drew the line! Some things are sacred. She's lucky I let her borrow the toys while I figured out where she belonged. Anyway, I called the vet (which btw was the same vet we used. That may not seem like a big deal but big suburban area equals tons of vets.) and asked them to run the rabies tag. I was connected with the dog mom and Lexie is back home. We noticed she had a little limp and were concerned she got hurt on her adventure however she was actually recovering from ACL surgery.
So, in my little head, I feel pretty certain that my fur baby sent Lexie the stray into my path to help me get through another milestone. I miss that dog like crazy. She always took good care of us.
