And she totally loved them!
The box was waiting for her when she came home from her first chemo treatment. I'd told her something was coming for her, but I wanted her to wait until I could explain before she opened it.
When she called, I told her that DD and I wanted to make sure she was properly shod for her battle, that we didn't want her to. Just fight the cancer, we wanted to kick its ass, so we sent her something to help her in her fight. Then she opened the box and yelled, "Look, Connie (my mom) Marcy sent me red hooker heels to kick cancer's ass! Wait till I tell the preacher I'm Wearing my ass kicking shoes!" I laughed until I cried, she was so excited.
( side note: Granny's preacher is an old Navy man, and he won't turn a hair when she calls them her ass-kicking shoes. He'll just admire my good taste in shoes and tell her they look like they'll get the job done. I love this guy!)
i talked to Mom today and she told me that Granny made her put the shoes down so she could try them on. When she stood up in them, she was taller than Mom. She put them on top of the tv, then carried them to the table for dinner, and finally put them beside the bed where she could see them.
She may never take a step in them, but they're worth every cent!
Sister Peas, thank y'all so much for helping find them for Granny. They made her and Mom's week.

I'm hoping to go down this week to see her and Mom. If i do, I'll get a pic of her and her red shoes.
She's picked out her wig for when she loses her hair. I don't know which one she came home with, but she was admiring one that was a platinum blonde page boy. She told DD that she'd always wanted to go platinum, but had never had the courage and here was her chance.
If y'all would keep her in your prayers and thoughts, I'd really appreciate it.
