Wishing him all of the very best, I hope the surgery goes well and that he goes from strength to strength afterwards. Thinking of you too OP, I know how hard it is to watch our little ones go into an operating theatre. ((Hugs))

Sending my prayers, mom! I remember how scared I was when our DD had an appendectomy at age 9.
I hope it all goes well.

Thinking of you too OP, I know how hard it is to watch our little ones go into an operating theatre. ((Hugs)) Yes that. One of the hardest things to do is watch them wheeling away your child. Surgery staff who are used to working with children will have them practically asleep before they take the kid away from the parent, which is good for the child. But the parent has to watch. I remember how that feels. Before sure to update us after the surgery is done.

Hopefully, the surgery will improve his sleep and other issues. My girls both got their tonsils and adenoids out within 6 months of each other. One was three and the other had it done just a few days before her sixth bday. The older one had it done out patient and the younger one had it done at a children's hospital. Both girls had pretty drastic improvements in their sleep. He should come through fine. Good luck.

So glad the surgery went well! Hope he's feeling all better really soon.
FYI- my sister-in-law had her tonsils out at age 20 or so and she was told she could have all the ice cream she wanted while recovering. She just didn't realize that she wouldn't want much ice cream b/c it hurt too much. She came to a family birthday party and ate baby food instead of cake and ice cream.

Great update! Glad it seems to be going well so far. He sounds like a tough kid. I'm sure they've given him some pain medication... be sure to give him that regularly even if he says it doesn't hurt. Keep ahead of the pain and it will be easier to control. Smoothies, scrambled eggs, pudding, custard, soup... I remember when my ds had mouth surgery. It was too soon (i.e., before the doctor okayed chewable food) that he said "MOM! I'm tired of all this smooth food!" lol. He was about 8 or 9 I think, 3rd grade. I hope everything continues to go so well.

Glad all went well!
My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids out at age three. She didn't want ice cream because she knew that was what we expected her to eat. She wanted taco soup instead.
