Those photos are stunning! Great Britain is my next European destination. Can't believe I still haven't been there.
So many places on the East coast U.S. are named after places in Great Britain. It's clear our forefathers missed home and were trying to recreate it here.

I love seeing these! Was it you who shared other photos taken in Britain some time ago - I think they were by regular people but for a weekly/monthly contest? They were breathtaking.

Makes me want to go! Unfortunately it's hard to get DH to travel anywhere not tropical. A trip to Paris may have been a once in a lifetime European experience for me unless I go by myself!

This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.
William Shakespeare, "King Richard II", Act 2 scene 1

My mom is from Harris and the beaches are gorgeous, but if you wade in you will know quickly you aren't in the Caribbean. Thanks for sharing, gar.

I've been to number 14!
In 1990 my mother, my son (who was a year old at the time) and I took a trip to Germany to visit my grandmother. We were staying with her for a month and during that time I'd planned to fly to England to meet my long time penpal who I'd been writing to for several years for a visit for a week. We'd never met in person but became such good friends through our letters bonding over our deep affection for Al Stewart's music. She and her husband lived in Birmingham, England and when I arrived we got along great. They told me they could take me to London or they could take me to their favorite place North Wales for a few days for sightseeing. I said "take me to your favorite place". We had such an amazing time and Port Marion (spelling?) was one of the places we visited. I loved Wales.
Still planning to go back one day to see London-so much history, and of course the rest of Great Britain.
