Your comments HA! I was going to say that she was just changing the batteries in the smoke detector.
I honestly thought that she was too big to do this again. She started doing this shortly after I got her, and she was still small enough that I could reach up and grab her by the scruff of the neck and get her down. She's grown so much that I can no longer reach the scruff of her neck.
Last year, when I decided to get a pet, people said "you should get a dog." I always replied "I love dogs. But dogs are a lot more difficult than cats. Cats are easy." I suppose this is karma biting me in the ass because this cat is so very busy.

Secretly works for a pest control company. Do you really need to get her down? She looks like she is perfectly content doing her cat thing. I'd just let her be and leave her alone.

I've had cats all my life and I've never had one that did that! Does she jump up there from the floor or is there a piece of furniture close by that she jumps from? If she isn't putting any scratch marks into the door with her claws, I'd probably let her stay up there too. She would love the shelf I put in for my cats.e
I put an 8' long shelf at the base of the window for my cats to lay on and look outside. It is high up, but there is a tall dresser to the right of the shelf and just as I was trying to decide what I was going to use to make them some jumping steps, one of them jumped up on my desk, then to the dresser, and right onto the shelf. No steps needed. I do have one fatso cat that I don't think could make that jump. The other three cats have been up there, and one claims it as his personal bed at night, but my fatso cat hasn't even attempted to go up there so I guess he couldn't make it. Either that or it just looks like too much effort for him. His favorite place is snugged up beside me with his head on the pillow so that he can reach out and tap me every one in a while when he wants his head scratched.

One would think it's safe for her to simply "do her cat thing" but in the past, she's come close to falling and has scratched the door up at the top. I can't have her damaging stuff when there are plenty of other high places that are much safer for her.

She jumps from the top of the television (where I have various items stacked in hopes of discouraging her from jumping onto the television) to the top of a bookcase (where I have 2 old pillows that I was going to throw away...not moving those, but keep them up there to discourage her from jumping onto the top of the bookcase) and over to the door where she walks the width of the door, over to the doorframe against the wall. She has almost fallen and has scratched the top of the door in hopes of avoiding a fall. She's got a huge cat tree that stands 6 ft tall AND she jumps from the floor, onto my kitchen countertop, up on top of the fridge and onto the tops of my kitchen cabinets. I've given up on breaking this habit and as long as she doesn't loiter too long on the kitchen countertop, I usually leave her alone to get up there. My old cat was never like this...even as a kitten. This cat is just BUSY. Honest to God I feel like I have a toddler.

What a beauty. Is she a Bengal cross? Her expression, and the markings on her face and legs are very Bengal, and they are climbers and extremely busy and inquisitive - into everything. They need much more stimulation than most cats.

She seems to have a career future in acrobatics. Perhaps a pink tutu is in order?

They need much more stimulation than most cats. I think someone here may have mentioned that thought before and I did some googling on the Bengal breed and it does seem like a very good fit. I got her from the Atlanta Humane Society...so other than knowing what county she came from, I've got nothing else.
