This Thursday evening HS has a free class called Storyline on fb. Is anybody else signed up? If you can't make the timeframe, you can watch it after the fact. I'll try to link tomorrow, as the rest of my evening is taken up.

I'm signed up. But that's really just so that I can go into the draw to win the prize pack. Sadly NONE of these products are available in Australia

I went looking online so I could try to get a glimpse of the product line, and I was really taken in by the promo examples that they're putting out there, especially the ones by Kim Jeffress. My scrapbooks look nothing like this. Mine are bigger with multiple photos on very page, everything matted, lots of stuff all over. But my DD's albums are actually very much like Kim's. Smaller scale, minimal, with just a few stickers and more handwriting (although DD likes PP backgrounds.) They're very easy and fresh looking. I'm going to watch the class but I'm hesitant to recommend it to her because she'll take it as a comment that she's "doing it wrong." You know how teenagers can be. Thanks for mentioning it, LisaDV . You've captured my interest!

I signed up, but I don't have the extra money to buy the supplies for the class but I will still check it out for ideas

Here's the linkmsliz, my pages are generally 12x12 with lots of layers and stuff too. I figured I could glean an idea or two for my own use, plus it's just fun to see what other people are doing. And there is always the, "oh, maybe I could use that approach for this event".

This is so fricking boring! She's just been reading stories from her kids' scrapbook pages for the last half an hour.
The big message: Journal the stories so you don't forget. Really, that's it. Include the who, what, where, etc.
Don't bother watching the recording when it becomes available. You will learn *nothing.*
ETA: Kim Jeffress wrote a comment re: telling stories that made me laugh: "Just like we teach in Kindergarten!" Yup.
And now for the last ten minutes she's been writing out on a white board a list of reasons why journalling is important. I'm flipping through my tumblr while she's going on and on.
Did anyone who sat through it get anything positive from the experience? Learn anything new? Did it reinforce anything for you?
Maybe I'm just grumpy tonight.
ETA: At 52 minutes in, she begins to teach us how to achieve out scrap/storytelling goals: buy her preprinted stuff and use her sketches, do it fast and simple.
My overall opinion, I don't disagree with her that telling our stories is important. It is. But we've all been scrapbooking for awhile now, and there was nothing new here except her product line. I'm glad it was a free class since the third half hour was basically a commercial. I'm glad for the 10 viewers who won prizes! They earned it!

I'm watching. Well, my laptop is open with it playing while I watch Big Bang Theory. I am getting nothing out of it. Also could be my mood. What I am getting from it is basically Becky Higgins Project Life but with a story to it. Not random life.

I mean I liked her old pages and stuff but I just felt it could have been more professional but then I know a lot like her scattered style. I love her products though and have been a fan of her stuff forever it seems. Oh and I am doing other stuff to. Save

I gave up early. She needs more scripting because she just rambles on and on. I opened the pdf with the overview of her product. It's basically supposed to be a system to get scrap done (like PL but different layout and options). I can see buying her product to incorporate into my scrapping.

She made a point to say she has been teaching for 19 years well people have made the same comments the whole time that is just the way she does it. I like the idea of being able to get a page and story done quickly and love that every thing has adhesive on them. My computer was giving me fits to and in the end had to watch on my phone as it just wouldn't work on my computer. If I tried to like it sent me to another FB group, I think I accidentally posted something like 5 times because my computer wigged out and I couldn't do anything and then froze LOL. I have to say though I have liked a lot of her products through the years - I love the fonts she had on her chipboard alphas and still have some in my stash - need to add adhesive but I still like them, I miss her acrylic paint she had as it was nice and thick and rick and the colors were awesome. I need to find an alternative. She came out with a lot of cool products and some that other kind of use now but have changed up a bit. I like the idea of these current story kits things but I want a bit more color for the background pages I think - the albums look gorgeous though but I wish they were D ring for the 12 by 12. They looked really sturdy to. Save

Did anyone else have issues with freezing and poor video quality? Also this is my first Facebook live but are they always vertical? If so, this will be my last. Vertical videos are horrid to watch.

Yes but I thought it was my computer I had a ton of issues and don't ever remember having issues with FB live - actually I never have. I got bumped out multiple times and had issues commenting. Save

I got side tracked on Thursday night so I didn't watch it live. I hope to watch it today. I have a hard time with ramble-ly flaky though so I don't know how far I'll get

I didn't get far and just ended up reading the e-book. I like the LO sketches, but I'm not going to go out and buy product for this. Is it worth watching the end at all? Does she scrap at all?

Wow! I really like Heidi Swapp, but it just didn't seem very well organized for a big time scrapbook name. Then I think, well, at least she's authentic and not curating everything like Dear Lizzy. I did fast forwarding, and I have craft stuff pulled out to work on. So to keep popping over to the computer to fast forward says something. Also I'm a big proponent of journaling and telling stories. At about 1:22 she talks about how thankful she is for the stories she's put down about Corey (her son that she lost a while ago) that made me teary eyed. Although if this gets more people keeping memories, I'm all for it. I could see doing something simple like this for one themed album. It is definitely not going to change the way I scrap. This is my creative outlet. When I want to speed up the process, I usually create digital pages. at about 59minutes in for about 6 minutes.

I didn't bother checking it at all, I remember the reviews of her year long class for Big Picture. Doesn't sound like anything has changed with her teaching style. I relay like a lot of her products, but not a fan of her "teaching".
