So I have been crocheting this queen-sized afghan for my DD. It is a bunch of different colored, different sized squares. I got all the squares done and last night I put them all down on the living room floor. I mapped out where each square was going to go. It was perfect. I intended to leave it there as I stitched each square together. I wake up this morning and the squares are almost all raked into two big piles. Cats are laying on top of the piles. I could have killed them. It took me over an hour to piece together where each square was going to go. Tonight I'm going to do it again, but this time, I'm going to draw the thing so if I wake up to the squares all piled up tomorrow morning I at least know where in the blanket they are supposed to go. Darn cats. As soon as they saw me coming, they scattered so I did not even get a picture of them all perched on my piles of crochet squares. They knew they were in trouble.

Man, gotta love those little buggers!! Our newest one has to knock every.single.thing off of the tables. I have to be diligent about leaving cups and stuff sitting on the table. They are always on the floor come morning time, whether they are empty or not!

Take a picture of it when you lay it out next time. That way you can pack it up and line it up the way you want it and put it out of their reach (is there anywhere that is out of a cat's reach? lol)
glad that they didn't damage it other than rearranging it - it could have been a lot worse!

I have to make sure if I leave cups on the counters at night, they are empty because mine will try to drink out of them and inevitably they will spill. They only cause this mischief at night, though.

I try and keep my crocheting in a basket but it does not keep the cat and sometimes the dog from stealing my stuff.

Mr Kitty likes to sit on my knee and 'help' me crochet, it mainly consists of chewing the wool as it comes off the ball.

We do that with everything. Hey, we're gonna hang pictures, lets lay it out and take a picture! Let's move all the electronics! Ok, take a picture of the back of everything so we can remember how to hook it up! We're fond of pictures.

I am so sorry...I don't mean to laugh but I absolutely lost it when you said your squares were raked into two big piles. Perfect visual for a great laugh! Here's to hoping they refrain from such behaviors tonight, although knowing cats, they probably won't.

I have to drink Ensure to up my calorie intake, I left a cup of it out while I went to the bathroom. When I came back Kitty was sat next to the cup with the 'I haven't done anything' expression on his face, too bad the Ensure all over his head, chin and whiskers told another story! That stuff tastes vile so I really don't know what he was thinking

I am sorry, but that is funny! One of my kitties likes to help me knit by chewing on the bamboo needles as I am trying to work! My mother's cats like to help her when she is setting out her quilt blocks. Good thing the cats are so cute, isn't it? I love how innocent they look after creating such mischief too!

they are something, aren't they?? I'd have loved to see that, too! Our newest cat can steal things right in front of you, and you won't even notice! Her most favorite toy is a drinking straw, and she's good enough to take them out of the glass without disturbing the glass or its contents at all (thankfully).
I second the 'take a picture of it' idea-- I do that sort of thing all the time now, and it comes in really handy.
