Update: She's gone. She went in about 3 seconds, which the vet tells us means she was really sick. DH took her bed so she could lie in it instead of on the cold floor. He held her and she went peacefully. The vet was crying too. I kept hoping he'd walk back in with her but I feel comforted knowing the time was right. I think we always question if we did the right thing for them. My Abbey also went that quickly but the vet didn't say what yours did. Makes me feel better that I did make the right decision if what you were told is true. I still have not done a thing with her ashes. Can't even bare to think about it |

I'm so sorry for your loss. When DD lost her cat this year it was heartbreaking. I have never in my life experienced anything like seeing my child in so much pain. Hugs.

Can't even bare to think about it A different vet told us the same thing 5 years ago when we lost Lewis. I guess the stronger the body, the longer it takes to work. Working quickly means, according to the vets, that the body was nearly there already. It comforts me to know we didn't cheat her out of anything. |
