I think Mike Pence the American People are letting their feelings be known about this bill in whatever form it is in. It would appear that alternative facts world is spreading.
"Vice President Mike Pence struck an optimistic tone Monday to say "we are close" to getting a deal on healthcare.
"Every Republican in the House and the Senate as well as this administration promised the American people we would repeal and replace Obamacare," Pence said on conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham's radio show. "The Senate is within weeks of being able to deliver on that promise."
Ingraham brought up Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's comments last week in which he said Republicans would have to work with Democrats to fix Obamacare insurance markets if the Senate health bill doesn't get passed.
Pence said a deal needs to happen soon as he believes the law is collapsing.
"We all know that and we are not getting it done," Ingraham responded.
The vice president aimed to gin up support for repealing the law this week as the Senate returns to work on Monday.
"I would tell your millions of listeners that this week is critical," he said. "You want to see Congress repeal and replace Obamacare now is the time to have your voice heard."

linkFrom The NY Times.... "WASHINGTON — President Trump’s advisers recruited two businessmen who profited from military contracting to devise alternatives to the Pentagon’s plan to send thousands of additional troops to Afghanistan, reflecting the Trump administration’s struggle to define its strategy for dealing with a war now 16 years old. Erik D. Prince, a founder of the private security firm Blackwater Worldwide, and Stephen A. Feinberg, a billionaire financier who owns the giant military contractor DynCorp International, have have developed proposals to rely on contractors instead of American troops in Afghanistan at the behest of Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s chief strategist, and Jared Kushner, his senior adviser and son-in-law, according to people briefed on the conversations. On Saturday morning, Mr. Bannon sought out Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at the Pentagon to try to get a hearing for their ideas, an American official said. Mr. Mattis listened politely but declined to include the outside strategies in a review of Afghanistan policy that he is leading along with the national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster. The highly unusual meeting dramatizes the divide between Mr. Trump’s generals and his political staff over Afghanistan, the lengths to which his aides will go to give their boss more options for dealing with it and the readiness of this White House to turn to business people for help with diplomatic and military problems." Sure why not. Didn't trump tell us that he was smarter than the generals?

'Cause it sure wouldn't be the American taxpayer or military member who benefits from any of this!

I don't know who owns the companies in question but I do know Blackwater had some past problems....
"Blackwater is a much smaller company, but it’s still managed to garner a significant amount of notoriety. In September 2007, Blackwater employees fired on a group of civilian Iraqis in a widely publicized incident at Nisour Square; 17 people were killed.
In November, the Justice Department charged five of those employees with manslaughter. The guards have defended their actions by saying they were fired upon first, but testimony from a sixth guard who has cooperated with the FBI suggests otherwise. Attorneys for the five guards lashed out at the government for “second-guess[ing] split-second decisions” made in a war-zone.
Blackwater has also been accused of skirting federal laws prohibiting private entities from buying automatic weapons and misrepresenting its size to win contracts reserved for small businesses. The company is also facing huge fines from the State Department for shipping weapons to Iraq and Jordan without proper licensing. A federal grand jury in North Carolina is also investigating whether or not Blackwater smuggled weapons into Iraq in giant sacks of dog food.
And in a final blow to Blackwater, a recent draft report from the State Department inspector general indicates that Blackwater might be losing its license to work in Iraq very soon.
Obama has pledged to reduce U.S. reliance on private security contractors like KBR and Blackwater, but NPR notes that it won’t be so easy to break the addiction."

"Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded.."Unfortunately the current White House is pretty much full of ideas. 🦊 in the 🐔 house. 🚫 #MAGA! Bolding mine. That Tweet showed all of his true dumb. It was one of those moments that my mouth literally dropped open, and I had to reread it several times, to believe I had read it correctly.

I knew this tweet from tiny hands was going to happen... "If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother,as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!" If Chelsea Clinton had been there and been asked to sit in for Hillary she, based on the work she does for the Clinton Foundation, would have a working knowledge of African migration and health. I'm not sure as a handbag designer Ivanka would have very much knowledge of African migration and health. I'm pretty sure Hillary wouldn't have given away the country but I am damn sure trump , as the Aussie said, has pressed the fast forward on the decline of the United States as a global leader. I will add he hasalso pressed the fast forward on the decline as a country in general. 🚫🚫🚫 #MAGA But did you see Chelsea's reply to him? SaveYes, and it was glorious.

Back when the Republicans took the majority in the Senate Mitch McConnell, at a press conference, said he wanted the people to see that if the Republicans took the White House they could govern slightly right of the middle and the A erican people had nothing to fear or something like that.
3 tweets in my timeline..
Paul Waldman Washington Post....
"Have you ever seen an administration act as guilty as this one?"
Ezra Klein Vox...
"The scandal isn't just what the Trump team did. It's what elected Rs are letting them — and Russia — get away with:"
FiveThrityEight on Senate health care vote....
"So far, nine senators aren’t sounding like they will accept many compromises."
So Mitch you were saying?

"Sen. Hatch says DJT Jr story "overblown." I asked if he would take a similar meeting advertised as Russian help for his own campaign. "No!""
So if true comment by Hatch then this is what they call circling the wagons.

A trump tweet I couldn't resist...
"My son, Donald, will be interviewed by @seanhannity tonight at 10:00 P.M. He is a great person who loves our country!"
Anybody who loved this country would not go to a meeting with a foreign National with possible government ties to get dirt on his father's opponent in the Presidential race. That's just plain unamerican and shows a lack of belief in our democracy. It shows a lack of moral character just like his old man.

linkSince junior's story broke trump has been hiding in the White House and as one can imagine he's not happy. The Washington Post ran this article about the latest set of affairs. In it trump is still blaming the "Russia thing" on the Democrats saying that's their way of getting back at him for winning the election. But this one part of the article had me laughing... "Trump and his advisers are deeply frustrated that the disclosure by Trump Jr. has overshadowed the positive coverage they expected to receive from the president’s trip abroad, as well as other issues they hoped to spotlight this week, such as the Senate health-care bill and trade." A trip referred to as G20 changing to G19 and a health care bill that on a good day has a 20% approval rating with the American People and he considers that "positive coverage"? Really?? I really shouldn't laugh because this guy is our president. But it's better then crying.

The obscurity of the trump presidency in a series of Wednesday morning tweets...
"My son Donald did a good job last night. He was open, transparent and innocent. This is the greatest Witch Hunt in political history. Sad!"
"Remember, when you hear the words "sources say" from the Fake Media, often times those sources are made up and do not exist."
"ISIS is on the run & will soon be wiped out of Syria & Iraq, illegal border crossings are way down (75%) & MS 13 gangs are being removed."
".@washtimes states "Democrats have willfully used Moscow disinformation to influence the presidential election against Donald Trump."
Why aren't the same standards placed on the Democrats. Look what Hillary Clinton may have gotten away with. Disgraceful!"
"The W.H. is functioning perfectly, focused on HealthCare, Tax Cuts/Reform & many other things. I have very little time for watching T.V."

From Axios....
Donald Trump brokered a deal to keep roughly 1,000 jobs at a facility in Indiana from moving to Mexico. But it failed to live up to the hype while other firms have quietly continued to outsource — a trend that drained the state of 5,000 manufacturing jobs since February. For example, reports on former workers of Manitowoc Beverage Systems show many have been unable to find gigs as good as the ones they lost after the firm shipped 84 jobs to Mexico.
Why it matters: Trump outperformed in the rust belt due to his anti-establishment, anti-free-trade message. But Hoosiers, like Cindy Doty, who was recently laid off by Manitowoc, don't see much change. "I just think there're suits at the very top of the company that are just looking out for how much they can make," she told the News and Tribune. "And they don't care about the people they affect."

From Bloomberg Politics....
"Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he’s delaying the Senate’s August recess by two weeks after divided lawmakers have been unable to agree on how to revise health-care legislation he proposed to replace Obamacare.
McConnell of Kentucky said in a statement Tuesday that the five-week break will be shortened “to provide more time to complete action on important legislative items and process nominees that have been stalled by a lack of cooperation from our friends across the aisle.”
Its funny how it's ok when you do it but when the other side does it, it's not ok.
🚫🐢
For the record I don't think either side should hold up qualified nominees. As far as the legislation goes, the GOP has the majority so what is their problem?

From Our Revolution...
"GOP legislators who say they stand for "small gov" have banned cities from raising their own min wages in 24 states."
The latest city was St.Louis. It's not just minimum wage the states are cracking down it's other issues as well. Funny how states bitch and scream about state rights when the Feds steps in but have no problem limiting the rights of the cities and counties.
Sad!

A series of tweets from Jared Yates Sexton about Don Jr. Steven Colbert had them on this show last night....
"I love that the cover story is that Jr, Kushner, and Manafort were like, man, we could've committed treason there, and then walked away."
"Like they look back and think how lucky they were the attorney didn't have any information. How lucky we didn't collude, huh?"
"And that Junior is hiding behind defense of "She wasted my time by not helping with collusion. What can you do?"
"I mean, sometimes a subcommittee of your campaign tries to form a conspiracy with a hostile power and comes up short. Those're the breaks."
"That sound you just heard was every Trump lawyer in DC opening the window and screaming."
"Lawyer: I think our best defense is to admit there was collusion and provide proof.
Junior: Done and done."
"He didn't just write that it was Russia helping. He wrote "government."
What. Is. Going. On."
"This is the dumbest and biggest crime in the history of American politics. There's not even a close second."
"The son of the president just released the smoking gun and the people are laughing about it on the news."
"I chased this story for a year and he just...tweeted it out."
"Like. I spent hours and days and weeks and months. And his son just, hit tweet."
"I tracked down sources. Followed so many dead leads. Labored over this. And then, he just, you know, tweeted out the proof."
"I'm not entirely convinced I'm not having a break from reality."
"For the record, I'm beside myself in relief that this stuff is out there it's just...my god. I cannot believe this."
"Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell."
"I'm an independent journalist and I can tell you, there's a lot of us who have just gone after this thing in our free time."
"I've talked to so many people who've put in hours and hours on this story. And sometimes you just feel like it's never going to happen. "
"Hey. I'm good. I feel great. I'm just...absolutely baffled at the moment."
"For clarification, I wasn't reporting for the New York Times on this story. That team has busted their ass. "
" Is it possible Trump Jr thinks he didn't do anything wrong? "
"Hey, so don't get me wrong. I am incredibly happy that the president's son, um, tweeted out proof of collusion. 1/
"It's just so bizarre. As an independent journalist you work crazy hard hoping something will fall into your lap and...he tweeted it? 2/ "
"And it's so strange. Last year there were those of us who were all over this story and being called paranoid. And now...this? 3/ "
"I mean. He just tweeted it. Like it was nothing. Like, it was just another Tuesday. 4/4 "

From the Washington Post...
By Amy Brittain July 12 at 1:01 PM
"The State Department spent more than $15,000 to book 19 rooms at the new Trump hotel in Vancouver when members of President Trump’s family headlined the grand opening of the tower in late February.
The hotel bookings — which were released to The Washington Post under a Freedom of Information Act request — reflect the first evidence of State Department expenditures at a Trump-branded property since President Trump took office in January.
The department redacted many of the details on the invoice from the U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver and declined to provide additional information about the nature of the State Department’s presence at the hotel. Although the Secret Service is responsible for protecting the president’s family, the State Department provides assistance with security and logistics for international trips.
The president’s sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, their spouses, and the president’s daughter, Tiffany, were flanked by a heavy security presence on Feb. 28 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a VIP party hosted by developer Joo Kim Tiah, the son of one of Malaysia’s wealthiest businessmen."
This is in addition to what the Secret Service spent for rooms. All this tax payer money is going into trump's pocket. By the trump family not reimbursing the government for cost of these non official events is corruption. I mean it just really is.
