Last Sunday was ds's graduation open house. I've been scrapbooking since mid 2006 and had managed to get all his books caught up. Everything that was scrapped originally fell into 4 (later five) categories. Birth and birthdays, holidays, school and sports (I ended up seperating these into their own books) and Misc (everything else). He ended up with one book each for Birth & Birthdays, Sports and multiple books for holidays, school (one for preschool- 11 and one for senior year) and Misc for a total of 12 books. I used them them for centerpieces for his open house, along with a small floral arrangement in an antique milk bottle and small easel with a senior picture on each table. (We had thirteen tables, so one table had a cluster of floral arrangements in place of the scrapbook.) one scrapbook at the back of the hall had a flimsy spine so we laid that one down. I put his varsity letter on his Sports book, his numbers on his senior year book and on his pre-11th grade book I used his Small JV letter from ninth grade and a small academic chess letter he earned at his former school district in middle school. I was pleasantly surprised to see people sit down and immediately start looking through the scrapbook placed on their table all over the hall, all day long. Pics- the pic of the hall looks like there are only 11 books because one in the back was a bit too full for the spine so I had to lie it down.

That was so sweet of you to do! I love it. I also like the idea of putting the school letters on the outside of the scrapbook. How did you attach them - hot glue gun, regular glue, something else?

Hot glue. He didn't want a jacket. Had skipped his sports banquets all through high school, so if the coaches finally did ever get him his pins p- and some gave up trying, lol- he would stash them somewhere and lose them (he loved playing sports, just wasn't interested in the whole letter and pin thing) so I struggled with what to do with the letters and this seemed perfect.

That's so very amazing and beautiful!! I have to say I'm impressed you are a brave one also I don't think I'd be brave enough to put them on tables and would be afraid drinks would get spilled on them. I'm not sure what I'll be doing for DD party but I love what you've done! Thanks for sharing!
