When I turned 60 in April my husband surprised me with tickets to Hamilton and floor tickets to Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden. Saw Hamilton Monday - everything written about it was true. Fireworks from a rooftop bar on Tuesday and Billy Joel tonight. Best birthday ever! Thanks for letting me share. |

That's fabulous! My friend and her DH flew to NYC for Billy's Madison Square Garden concert a couple of months ago, and said he was wonderful. But to add in Hamilton as well? That was brilliant!

That's awesome. I really want to see Hamilton. I recently turned 50 and my husband gave me tickets to see Ed Sheeran. The concert was last weekend. We loved it. My husband turns 50 soon and we decided that we need to find a fun event for his birthday too.

Mine once bought me a bag of compost for Valentines day, beat that ladies Baby car seat for my 36th birthday. And not only was I NOT pregnant, but had no plans to be at that time!  I was not amused. Needless to say I returned it. ETA: Hamilton and Billy Joel sounds awesome, OP. Heck I would have rather had the bag of compost! |

Yes, in St. Paul. We stayed right across the street which was really convenient and ate at Tom Reid's beforehand. I love St. Paul. We thought Ed was great. It was pretty cool to listen to James Blunt perform "You're Beautiful" live - that was kind of a goosebumpy moment for me. I found all of the marriage proposals to be sweet. It makes me feel good about life in general that this scruffy red head is such a big deal right now. |

Have a great time! Happy Birthday! I saw Billy Joel/Elton John live years ago....their dueling piano tour. Still one of my favorite shows. I dragged DH with me and he ended up having a great time.

I feel I must add that it took me 37 years to teach this man how to give great gifts!
When I was 8 months pregnant with my second child he gave me a cordless iron and kitchen knives for Christmas. I was working in the DA's office at the time and my friends were afraid they would find his cut up scorched body in various parts of the city!
We got home tonight and we are both so glad the trip went as well as it did. He will tick me off tomorrow so I'm going to enjoy this feeling while it lasts.
