My wonderful niece who I love more than anything is going to make me a great aunt in January! My nephew (her brother) got married yesterday and it was beautiful. I am RETIREDSo... how's it going? Does it feel just like summer break or has it hit you yet?  On that note... #1 I am retired with a part-time job with flexible hours #2 My family is all in a good place #3 Financially stable with lots of vacations Feels like summer break..LOL. I think it will hit me in September. I've made plans for a wine tour, scrap weekend....and it doesn't matter what day of the week it is. I will find something part time. BUT it won't be subbing |

My daughter spent a few hours with us, on her layover on her way to London.

Our hotel last night was magnificent. So pretty. We took a chance on a priceline blind deal and it was just beautiful. The price was fabulous...our last minute road trip was a win.  There is a pierogi shop in Pittsburgh that we've been wanting to try. I know the owners daughter and when i talked to her yesterday i told her we were in town but were leaving before they were open again so we would have to try it next trip. This morning I got a text from her mom that she would be at the shop. I thought we'd be able to buy frozen pierogi but they invited us on, gave us a tour, made us 6 kinds of pierogies and a key lime dessert pierogi that made me moan...and then hooked us up with ice packs and 12 dozen to take home with us. They were the sweetest people ever. 8 of the ladies on my team earned a Caribbean cruise for hitting their business goals last year. They've been sending me pictures and each if them video chatted me at some point to show me the cabins, ports, and to chat. I always struggle with how effective I am as a leader and it's the area where I doubt myself the most so it means the world to me when they gave me the opportunity to celebrate with them. I adore these women so much! |

1. My soon to be junior got his AP results for Calculus and Euro History today and he got 5s on both
2. My legs are getting a nice summer tan
3. The sunsets are beautiful this summer.

1. Its medical but I'll take it cause I got some relief. I had a really bad reaction to some pain meds, but things are clearing up even though the side affects of the steriods still make me feel real wierd but it's working and my face is clearing up and not swelling. The rash was starting to spread so we got it in time. So relieved.
2. My dog - she is hilarious, we've had a lot of fun dogs but Pia is just silly.She doesn't know her giant size, she thinks she has to fit in Dh's chair with him. She thinks she's a lap dog. And she has to have her soccer ball delfated. If it's not she will play tug a war with you until she has it just the way she wants it. And you CAN'T tease her. You have to play serious or she takes her ball and goes home! And wherever there cheese is, she comes from no where.
3. I'm grateful my Dh cooks and enjoys it, He made really good salsbury steak it was just good comfort food today with mashed potatoes and everything.

My daughter just came in and gave me a huge hug and told me she loved me
We are staying at a lovely cabin this week with friends and family
There is still a month of summer, and we have already had such a great time that I feel no pressure to do much more than relax and enjoy the rest.

This week I am going to a talk by an author whose books I enjoy.
Managed to book tickets for an Ed Sheeran concert, it will be DD's first big stadium concert
The hundreds of mini solar lights I wrapped around our big tree look fab.

1. My 5yo son. We had mama-son morning with just the two of us. Many times, he behaves for everyone else and then unleashes on me. Today, we had an amazing time and he kept stopping to look at me and give me a hug.
2. My bed. I joke with my son that bedtime is my favorite time of day, but it is. It's my time to wind down, read, clear my head, and go to sleep.
3. My dog. She was sick a few weeks ago and the vet and I started the discussions about how far is too far and how much is too much. I don't want her to suffer needlessly. Well, she's bounced back and seems to be back to her lazy mama-only loving self. It makes me happy when she curls up next to me in my bed or in my chair.

My good friend has a cottage on Lake Ontario and that's where we're going to be! |

I love strawberries too! I have some planted in my garden bed, they are shooting runners out like mad right now and I think by next spring I will have a bumper crop of them.
1. I'm finally, after way too many years to mention, living by myself and I love it!!
2. I have 3 grand-daughters that make my life endlessy entertaining, especially Ms. Princess Boss the oldest one. She is my daughter Jasmine's oldest daughter and I'm always amazed at the things she does and says. Her sister is the complete opposite of her. Rebel is quiet and contemplative. She just looks around at everything and takes her surroundings in and has these eyes that are so blue they seem to look right through you. Lastly is the newborn, my lovely Lily. She is 5 weeks old and my baby's 1st child.
2. Don't laugh but the vegetarian sandwich I make that is a riff off the one from Sprouts. It's toasted whole grain bread spread with hummus, olive tapenade, caramelized onion, thinly sliced avocado and a slice of whatever cheese I'm in love with at the moment. This week it's Gouda. I run it under the broiler to melt the cheese and then it's ready to eat. It is so, so good.

My son official turned in his mission papers on Sunday. Now the wait begins.  I hired a friend to run the social media for my business and she's amazing. My social media is getting 5 times the attention it got before and she's been more of a business coach than just an ad manager. I wish I had hired her months ago. We are going to visit our oldest dd and her husband this weekend. |

Husband has been sick for the last week and had a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia. Got the news today x-ray was clear! Also he went out of town this morning and he is feeling better. Still gets tired with little exertion but feels good otherwise. Thank goodness I was worried.
I don't hate my job, first time I have been able to say that for a while!
It's summer my favorite time of year!
