This is really early in the morning for the NYT to be breaking a big bombshell story. I'm so used to these coming out between 2-5 PM! After reading this, it's hard to say that the Russian government wasn't involved and that the Trump campaign didn't know where the info was coming from - or that they had any moral issue with using it. Russian dirt on Clinton? I love it!From the article: The June 3, 2016, email sent to Donald Trump Jr. could hardly have been more explicit: One of his father’s former Russian business partners had been contacted by a senior Russian government official and was offering to provide the Trump campaign with dirt on Hillary Clinton. The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.” If the future president’s elder son was surprised or disturbed by the provenance of the promised material — or the notion that it was part of an ongoing effort by the Russian government to aid his father’s campaign — he gave no indication. He replied within minutes: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.” |

I just do not know how to respond anymore. But am hoping this ends with a lot of Trump family members and campaign staff in federal prison.

What fox reported if you missed it was that the russian lawyer was allowed in under obama admin to entrap trump jr. Proof is that she was denied visa and let in on a parole visa and one of her main clients was the group behind the infamous dossier. just an fyi as to the other side of the story if you missed it.
Look I don't care all the details of why they met and what they talked about, her agenda or visa situation, the point is he lied about their meeting yet KellyAnne is trying to spin it that the disclosure forms weren't clear that he filled out about the meeting.

I can remember telling a friend that I didn't enjoy the show House of Cards because it just seemed so ridiculous to me that an ass like Frank Underwood would be able to get away with so much crazy stuff, completely unchecked.
What a naive little pup I was.

Both are important points. I sense a Pence presidency on the horizon. We haven't seen any incriminating evidence of Hillary's dealings with Russia. Don't you think that if the Trump campaign had received any such information, they would have used it? Or it would have been released by Russia via Wikileaks? In claiming to have this information, and in getting Don Jr. to agree to a meeting to supposedly receive this information, they seem to have effectively incriminated the Trump campaign without actually providing anything useful against Hillary. It seems to me more and more that the Russians' real intent was to ultimately discredit BOTH candidates. |

of COURSE the documents would say they had something on Hillary; why else would someone on the Trump campaign agree to meet with them? That doesn't mean there actually WAS anything incriminating on her. (but of course, Donald Jr. says there really *wasn't* anything incriminating at all, so that makes the fact that he took the meeting okay... all-righty, then.  ) |

Both are important points. I sense a Pence presidency on the horizon. If trump goes down so does Pence as there is no way Pence didn't know what was happening. He may not have been involved but knowing and turning a blind eye is not someone that should be president. |

I'm not too concerned about the Clinton info - what was there other than the emails that leaked? If there were really info, they would have used it. Instead it was used as a lure to get them into the meeting.
It's like Dateline. When the predator shows up at the house, there's never a 13-year old girl who wants to have sex with a 40-year old dude. That's not really the story. The story is that that there is 40-year old dude who WANTS to have sex with the 13-year old girl badly enough to show up at a strange house to meet a total stranger in the hopes of having sex with a 13-year old girl. The guy can't go to court and plead not guilty because it turns out that the promised 13-year old girl didn't exist and wasn't waiting for him at the house. Even if he says to the judge "I'm not a child predator - I didn't get laid because the girl wasn't there!" - he's still going to jail. The intent was there even if the girl wasn't.

and can I say that I (almost) miss Sean Spicer? I heard some of what Sarah Huckabee Sanders had to say about this situation, and if she's really like she portrays herself behind the podium, she is an AWFUL person.

The trump camp has been saying for months "there is no collusion, there was no contact, it's a made-up story..." But here we have hard evidence it's real, it's right there in black and white. Sweet Buttery Jesus. America got played by the Russians, Putin is twirling his mustache like Snidely Whiplash, gloating over the chaos he's wrought. The plan all along was to weaken US influence globally and he's succeeded beyond his wildest dreams but our government is willfully ignoring this because now they FINALLY have a chance to kick poor people off Medicaid and give their big donors a huge tax break.
I despair.

I've barely met him for five minutes, I couldn't even identify him in a room! And if he was involved, it was in a very limited way for a very short period of time. |
