So older dd suffers from anxiety and anorexia. She is going to college in the fall. The university's eating disorder clinic is full and not accepting patients. They gave suggestions of two other counselors that we now need to meet and figure out who she wants (will tolerate) seeing. Her seeing a counselor and doing regular weigh ins required for her going away. I'm not sure I'm ready to let dd go, but I know she needs to go. She is making positive progress on her eating and she will only be 2 hours away.
Now come to find out younger dd (15) has been having tunnel vision for a long time when she stands up (she never said anything, she thought it was normal). On Friday she actually lost her peripheral vision on her right side for about 5-10 minutes. She told dh and I when we got home from work. Blood work has been negative so far (T4 was slightly low, but TSH, T3 were normal) along with an EKG and 24 hour holter. She has a MRI of the brain and an echo scheduled for next week. I can't be there, I have to travel for work next week. She is very introverted and really won't talk about it. The only she shared is, she just started Pom and is disappointed she had to stop until we know what is going on and is torn on if she she should go to Pom camp even if she can't participate. Oh, and when people ask her how long this has been going on and she says years, I get THAT look. Ugh, being a parent isn't easy.

You are very smart to have the stipulation that your daughter have regular weigh ins and see a counselor. My niece has an eating disorder as well as OCD and she wanted to go to college in New York. We are in California. My sister didn't set any safeguards like you are doing and by the time the school recognized that my niece was bottoming out, it was almost too late. I think it was a roommate that finally went to the school about her. My sister received a call that they were rushing her to the hospital and to fly out immediately. She was hospitalized for a while and after they got her stabilized, she was sent to the Remuda Clinic (not sure if that is the right name) in Arizona. She was there for 3 months, I think it was. We almost lost her. She had to return to Remuda again for another lengthy stay, but finally seems to be doing much better now. You will be in my prayers.

Sending your family lots of hugs and prayers. It's tough watching your kids struggle in any way.
