Steph, I apologize. I was going off some other threads and got my facts wrong. I hate when others do that so I hold my head in shame I misunderstood and thought you already had the surgery and were having these issues. Have you always had this problem or is this a new one? If you cannot stomach smoothies, I don't really have much in the way of suggestions because they are the way to load up on nutrients in a small meal. I hope you can find some answers. It would drive me crazy to have to live like that.

My breakfast usually consists of 2 slices of turkey bacon while drinking my Plexus. I do like egg white omelets, but I know that eggs don't sound good to you right now. Plexus does have a chocolate meal replacement that tastes pretty good & is only 100 calories. It can be blended like a smoothie too if you wish to add almond milk and other ingredients. It sounds like breakfast/early morning is an unpleasant time due to your gallbladder issues. I hope you're feeling much better soon!

DoTerra has an oil called digestzen, give it a try (it has peppermint and ginger). You can also just put 2 drops of peppermint or ginger oil on your tongue and it will help settle you stomach for a longer time than sipping water with it. Another method is to carry a bottle of oil or a tissue with a couple drops on it and when you feel nausea smell it.

You shot down my idea in the first paragraph, but I eat (drink) a shake each work morning made from almond milk, yogurt, frozen fruit and a little flax seed. I'm like you on the weekends and may not eat for a while, but I do drink a Dr. Pepper (not the healthiest, I know)
Before I started making my own shakes, I drank Slimfast every morning. I just don't like to eat in the morning, but would be hungry before my students went to lunch, so this was my solution.
I did try oatmeal each morning for about a week and I just didn't really want to eat it. I can eat cereal, but I don't want to pack it and I don't want to get up early to eat. Something I can drink on the way is perfect for me.

us.ozerybakeryinc.com/ozery/morningrounds.phpOur Sprouts carries these. They are filling, have a fair amount of fiber. Taste good toasted with peanut butter, nutella or by themselves. My husband has been grabbing those and a small keifer when he's on the run

For breakfast lately I've been eating half a banan cut in half length-wise with either peanut butter or almond butter and sprinkled wit a bit of chia seed, almonds or walnuts and sometimes a few raisins. It's not too sweet for me and has protein, fiber and chia seeds for an extra nutritional boost.
Why do you drink water with peppermint EO?

I like the Quaker strawberry cheesecake bars. They taste good and like you I don't eat in the AM just coffee. I try to eat one of these so I don't get lightheaded. I don't usually eat a meal until 3 o'clock or so then I snack for dinner.

I definitely misunderstood you and not sure I have much to offer. Do you think the peppermint oil helps the nausea or hasn't made a difference? Like others have said, ginger is another way to help control nausea.
Saltine crackers & dry toast were what helped my get through morning sickness.

I just realized there were more replies, thank you thank you thank you!! I'll try as much as I can.
The super nausea has been for probably 9-12 months or so, it's been a while. It's like the most super intense morning sickness I can ever imagine. Before that it was off and on. I'm *really* hoping that it starts to clear up post surgery and I can get back to normal.
I started the peppermint oil in my water beginning of August, someone recommended it for nausea and it ended up actually helping a lot with the gall bladder pain, it gave me 2-3 days in a row a few times in August without all day everyday pain and it helped a lot with the nausea. I keep it on me for sniffing too but it's not nearly good enough to stop the barfing from trying to eat.
It's been so bad lately that it seriously takes me 10-15 minutes to really brush and floss in the mornings, just having the toothbrush/floss stick in my mouth sends me gagging.
I'm 4 days post op and i'm still really swollen, sore and just plain jacked up right now so not much has changed. The meds are making me super nauseated too so i'm going to have to wait until I kind of equalize again before I see if the surgery helped at all. in the meantime i'll try some of the recipes and make a list of suggestions to try. Thank you!

I'm sorry you are feeling crummy. How about the peanut butter cracker sandwiches? I find that nibbling them will often help settle my stomach and you mentioned you like salty, not sweet. As far as bars go, DD and I both really like the Kind brand.
