I like that I have a dedicated space at one end of the living room. There are windows on both sides. I can talk to DH in the family room, if I need to. I have a nice armoire and a vintage cabinet for storage that I love.
I wish I had a dedicated room all my own with room for all my stuff. I keep all my Iris cases of themed embellishments downstairs, so I have to get them and return them often. I'd like all my stuff together. I'd like room for friends.

I absolutely love the fact that I have my own room. I started out scrapping at the dining room table and hated that I had to put everything away at the end of a scrapping session because the table needed to be used for the next meal. Having my own room means I can leave my latest project out on the table and when I come back I can pick up right where I left off. I just really wish the room was a little larger. I'd love to have an island work table that is standing height but my room is too narrow to be able to to that. I'm hoping it is "temporary". We are talking about doing some renovations and although increasing the size of my craft room is definitely on MY agenda, DH might put a stop to that because more space will mean more room for stuff. LOL But I suppose that even if my space never changes, I'm just happy to be able to have a room of my own!

I love: -The cabinet built-ins we did (just 1 wall, not the whole room) -My cherry shaker-style table I found on Craigslist that matches the built ins -That's it's full of craft goodies and personal decor/storage items bought just for this room
I dislike: -It's tooooo freaking small! I have been out of space in here since I set it up and can't wait for kids to get older and I can blow out a wall into a bedroom! -My chair needs an upgrade. I'm coveting one of the Herman miller chairs like we have in our conference rooms at work. Those baby's are spendy even used!

I have my own room, which is awesome because I had to wait 9 years and moving to a bigger house to get more than a corner... It has a large south facing window so the light is great and I can see the kids when they are playing outside in the backyard Except for my albums, and my Silhouette (in another room with the computer) most of my stuff fits in my space when I put it all away
What I do not like: my table is a little too small (DH built it out of a piece of butcher block) but it's OK if I clear it off often, it also rolls which is good and bad since if it's placed wrong I hit my head on the light fixture I'm in the formal dining room between the living room and kitchen, and my space tends to accumulate random crap that has to be relocated constantly There aren't a lot of options for furniture placement since one wall is a big doorway to the living room, one wall is a window, and one wall has a doorway and a heater vent on it. I can't close my door since I don't have one, so I have to try to keep the place looking nice which would be fine if not for the rest of the family...

I have my own room with plenty of storage space. The only thing I don't like is my chair. I have a high table (standing height) from Costco and I need a bar stool chair to be able to sit. I mostly stand because I don't like the chair I have, it's uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. I have a higher table too I got a drafting table type chair at Staples it's very comfy. You can raise and lower the height of the chair.

What I love about my craft space: - everything is close to my craft table.
- I have room under my work surface to store projects in process and other small items.
- I have a large area to work. I can also open a desk next to my craft table and have an even greater work surface if I need it.
- I have storage near my craft space to store most of my stash. I do have extras of some items stored elsewhere - but not much.
- There is a window beside my craft space. I get the morning sun shining onto my work surface.
What I hate about my craft space: - My craft space is in the corner of my bedroom. It works out because I have a large bedroom.
- I have a wall above my craft table that could be used for additional storage, but since I'm a paraplegic I can stand to use it. I haven't been able to figure out a way to utilize that wasted space.

What I love about my craft space: - that it's a separate room, dedicated only to me as an office and scrap room
- that I have a big corner desk with my computer and Cameo on it, so I can keep my Cameo out/set up and use it anytime
- 2 windows, one of which is right beside the scrap table, with nice morning light & view of backyard, nice birdsong
- sturdy folding 6-ft scrap table with storage underneath, and a smaller (& lower) 2-shelf unit on casters that I can use to have an L-shaped workspace or roll back under the scrap table when I'm not working
- huge wooden armoire with lots of storage in the upper portion (shelves)
- enough bookshelves for storage & I can keep most of my 12x12 paper plus a few albums upright
- rolling drawer cart for small supplies (1 entire drawer of adhesive!!, LOL) & embellishments
- that it has a door I can close (but I rarely do)
- great lighting in addition to the natural light from windows
- not too hot & not too cold since it's on a middle level of our split level house
- it's next to a small bathroom - easy access to sink for watercolor, paint, ink, etc. cleanup
What I don't love: - the room (small bedroom) is still semi-shared with some of DD's stuff (she's in college), so I can only use about half of the bookshelves and 1 drawer of the armoire
- closet mostly taken up by large cedar chest full of sewing/quilting projects which I can't move, can't part with, and don't have time (or space) to work on right now - this also prevents me from putting any sort of organizational system into the closet for better use of the space, plus the closet also has some of DD's stuff in it
- during the holidays all the extra decoration boxes usually end up in here, in front of the closet (adding to the pile of stuff already in front of the closet that no one knows what to do with) - just the whole closet and closet area in general needs a solution
- good thing/bad thing - since my PC is in here, when I work from home, I hear my scrap projects calling me and have to ignore them
- the bathroom that it's next to belongs to teenage DS, so it's sometimes in need of air freshener, IYKWIM

What I like about my space:
- separate craft room/office. It's small but a big improvement to working on the dining table. - natural light from 2 windows - my 2 desks - long one all the way along one wall (2 IKEA linnmon tables) and then computer desk in an L shape. - my table space is big enough so I can have my sewing machine, big shot and Cameo all out set up plus a scrapping space. Printer is next to laptop on the other side. - under table storage - 2 sets of drawers on castors. I have my minc on one so just need to slide it out when I want to use it.
Cons:
- Room is south facing so not always a lot of sun in winter, but it's small so easy to heat. - small plus no built in storage or even a cupboard. I just have room for one set of shelves. - with 2 lots of windows wall space is limited.
However, it really does work. The reality is I live alone and have a 4 bedroom house so could move my craft room to one of the 2 spare bedrooms, but it's fine. Stops me buying too much stuff!!

Things I love: -Have my own room to craft -Room has a large window -I have 3 separate desk areas -Adequate storage -Closet that holds a great deal of stuff (hung a curtain and can hide it off if I don't want to look at it) -An attached study area (very small) where I keep the laptop, silhouette, 12X12 paper, and all the markers and another small desk (and an extra window) -Room is upstairs and is out of the way -Bathroom next to the room
Things I don't like so much: -Wish the room was larger (is 12X12) plus the study (6X5) -Can only have one other person working with me, two extra people gets a bit crowded

anniefb and Chinagirl828 I was puzzled for a moment when you said your rooms were south facing, so they don't get much light! Then I realized, oops, different hemisphere. Here in the north, south facing is good. Anyway, the things you don't think about until someone points it out!

What I love:
- I have my own room, which is a really decent size - a large closet that's pretty organized with just my supplies - a very comfy chair - lots of wire paper racks from scrapbook store - two tables, one just for die cutting tools and printer
What I don't love:
- the lighting is terrible

I wish I lived closer to some of you. I would come over and organize for you... I love doing anything organizational. I love that I have a scrappy space. It's a book created by an odd addition to our house before out time. It's about 6'x8'. I like the curtains/colors etc. I have a decent amount of storage for the size of the space. I dislike my desk. It was free though, so it stays for now. It's an old office metal desk. Weighs a ton but doesn't have many drawers.

I love my scrap space!
~~it is a loft overlooking our main living space; so I don't feel cut off from the husband or family when they are downstairs watching TV, baking, etc. My former room was in a guest bedroom and while I liked it, I did at times did not like being so far from the goings-on around the house.
~~it has a sink and a small fridge;
~~my desk is a jack-n-jill style; so basically square which gives me tons of room to spread out.
~~the way it's laid out allows for the supplies that don't fit in or on the desk to be within arms reach behind me on an antique sofa table. The only thing I have to stand up for is the die cutting machine.
~~TV with Directv.
~~french doors leading to a balcony; so beautiful view of our mountains and plenty of light.
Honestly, there is nothing I DON'T like about it. It was custom made for me and I love it! I wish my bulldog didn't have severe arthritis and could join me up there more frequently; but I've had to start limiting the times he can go up and down during the day and that is the only bad part about being up there.

I wish I lived closer to some of you. I would come over and organize for you... I love doing anything organizational. My husband says I like to 'organize' more than scrapbook. I think he might be on to me.. PROS: I love my desk. It's from the school I worked at. It was an old science desk (not tall) but it is very large. Right now I have my two computer screens, a printer, a scanner, two Ott lights on it plus enough work space in front of me. I painted it with Annie Sloan's chalk paint. I love the paint other than I painted the legs a funky pink I don't like. And it is wearing off a bit where I work at. Also I have two good huge bookcases that I also scored for free from the school. They hold a TON. And I can pile the weight on them. I also painted them with the chalk paint. (it's all the same 'off' or antique white). In addition to those storage bookcases, I have 7 of those scrapping square units from Michaels or Target. Each cube is a different setup, one has dividing drawers, one is a filing cabinet and so forth. My friend gave them all to me, plus a funky 'worktable' cabinet. The side of it can come up or down but you couldn't put much weight on it, so it stays down, but the top and drawers make good storage places and the bottom is divided into 3 vertical places to put paper or whatnot. PLUS two IKEA carts. So obviously storage isn't a problem! lol.. CONS: I have to share in my bedroom which is okay cause my bedroom is huge (small house 1,500 sq. ft.) but bedroom is HUGE... maybe 16x14?? If a common regular bedroom is 10x10.. I think 15 or 16 is about right. BUT when DH is home it's hard to use the space cause he is always sleeping (he's weird..) odd hours. Can't really scrap with friends, no space. I can with my bff cause she doesn't care about my bedroom and my DH is her cousin, but to have friends over, it would be weird. I have to share this space as I work sometimes from home. I hate having to go back and forth. And my last con would be that I did have MY OWN SPACE until DD who is 20 came back home and I had to give it up. (she went to the Navy and four days before graduation she had breathing problems and her chest hurt. So she went to the doctor and he said she was having anxiety problems and they booted her out. She had already had this breathing problem but was cleared by her doctor after LOTS of testing but the Navy didn't want to hear it.. she had passed ALL her Navy PT testing (like running, swimming, etc...) so she had to come home. So I had to give up my space... dang it.. lol

I like that I can move my folding table to whatever room I want to scrap in, to the den where the tv is, or the living room where the light is great.
I don't like that I have to unearth my supplies from where they are tucked away around the house and transport them to my table every time I feel like scrapping.
But then again, I work long hours and odd schedules, so I'm a binge scrapper and generally only scrap when I have two or more days off in a row without other obligations, every few months. I don't really mind being itinerant.

I have my own room with plenty of storage space. The only thing I don't like is my chair. I have a high table (standing height) from Costco and I need a bar stool chair to be able to sit. I mostly stand because I don't like the chair I have, it's uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. Invest in an architect chair. Just like an office chair but it raises up high. I am mostly a standing-scrapper so my DH built my worktable to be standing-height. Occasionally, though, I like to sit so for a long time just had a wooden bar stool. You're right, uncomfortable. I then purchased an architect chair from a big box store and have loved it so much that I find myself sitting more than standing!

I love my scrapbooking room. Several years ago DH built a room for me in the corner of his huge shop/garage (which is across the driveway from our home). What I like about it: 1. It's mine and I don't have to share! 2. Because it is not part of the house, it doesn't (usually) get used as a dumping ground. 3. It is connect to the house via an intercom system. 4. It is well insulated so cool in the summer, warm in the winter. 5. It is physically located within DH's shop so if I need to do something messy, or if I need some type of tool, it is just a few steps out to the shop. 6. It is pretty! I spent a lot of time decorating it with pretty, inspiring colors. Really, my only complaint is that it is not nearly big enough! It used to be big enough when I had a few shelves worth of cardstock, a bit of patterned paper and a box of photos. Then I started shopping and purchased the Sizzix machine and dies... progressed to the Silhouette Cameo... picked up a Minc along the way, got involved in vinyl cutting so had to have every color vinyl known to man, learned that there is a whole world of designers that offer yummy lines that I just had to have everything from... started doing mixed media projects.... oh, and of course my friends and I started going to conventions and classes and places where I just had to buy the next latest and greatest...

I love that I have a space dedicated to scrapbooking. I love my IKEA Expedits (vintage version of Kallax in case you're wondering). I love that I am working toward storage that allows me to see what I have. It helps so much.
Here's what I don't like.
I need a bigger room in general. I need more desk space. I don't have room for my die-cutting stuff, sewing machine, and so on. I'm still working on the best storage for some things, such as chipboard. I also need to figure out what to do with all my magazines. I loved them so much but haven't used them in a while. I need to go through them and decided which to keep and which to let go of.

I have just recently finished unpacking all of my stash and organizing it into my new scrapbook room, so I'm still very much in the honeymoon phase, especially after being "displaced" from a room since July 2015.... - I love my antique desk that I use as my scrap workspace.
- I love my TV on the wall.
- I love my Sonos amp and my speakers in the ceiling.
- I love my lighting.
- I love my Aeron chair.
- I love my storage.
- I love that it's near the stairs and off the main living area in the house, and I can feel connected to DH, whether he is upstairs or down.
- I love my sitting area.
- I love the colors in my room.
The only thing I would change if I could is to have sliding farm doors at the doorway, and perhaps a room that is bigger. Lawdy knows it's hard to stop shopping.

I Love: -That I have a scrap room at all -Its adjacent to the family room so I don't feel isolated -That there is a TV/music available -My L-shaped desk set up...one for work space and two for printer, laptop, cricut -Lots of natural light -My kallax cubes (one 25 and 2 8's)
I dislike: -Old ratty linoleum floor -Not yet organized---working on that!

I mostly stand because I don't like the chair I have, it's uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. I'm short and bar chairs never are comfortable for me. Hope you can find something that works for you. I have the exact same problem, too. I have a standing desk, and sometimes I'd like to be able to sit, but I've never been able to find a bar chair or a plain stool that's comfortable and the right height. I've been looking for one since I got my desk in 2005 or 6. Otherwise, I mostly love my room. I love the color, the huge closet, my windows and it's placement in the house. I dislike the fact that my door won't click shut and it's super tiny, about 12x12, and the only way I can exist in it is to be super organized, so I'm constantly cleaning and purging.

I love: That I have my own space. It's big. I have room for five friends to scrap with me, or for my DD to be down there with me. I can have my most used things out all the time including my die cut machines, laptops, sewing machine, big paper cutters. Smart TV. Custom cabinetry and built in shelving. Great lighting throughout. I don't love: Not having much time to actually do anything down there when I have any mental energy. It's always a mess. It's not organized the way I want it to be. My scrap room is just across the hallway from my bedroom. It has cable tv in it. Yet when I want to organize something, I generally drag it to my bedroom and organize on my bed while watching tv. Weird how 15 feet can motivate to organize. Maybe just do 15 minutes of organization a night before bed? You will want to scrap when it is all organized.

Now that it's summertime, my "day" doesn't end until I shove my night owl kid into her room and attempt to get out of there before 10:00 pm. For some reason, I can start the process at 8:00 pm and still not get done with bathroom, reading stories and talking about her day until 9:30-10:00, and by then I'm physically and mentally beat. I'm not good for anything other than Peaing in my easy chair and watching the 10:00 pm news.

What I love:
1. I actually have my own space. For over 15 years, I had to stash my scrap supplies & tools here, there, and everywhere because I lived in a small home.
2 It's a big area with a good sized closet. I can have friends over and there is room for at least a few friends to scrap with me. There is room for everything I own, despite my huge stash.
3. It has one wall that is mostly windows, so the natural lighting is good.
Not sure whether to put this one in the things I love or the things I don't:
It is a loft that was designed as a game room. Everyone has to walk through it to get to the other bedrooms. The guest bedroom is right next to it. I can't just close the door on any mess I make in my scrap area, so I feel like I have to clean up after myself constantly. On the other hand, maybe that is a good thing.
What I am less thrilled about:
1. Only one wall and a small section of wall are suitable for shelving, and I have a LOT of paper.
2. I need to organize things better. I had to unpack in a hurry prior to family coming to visit. I can't find what I want very easily. Yet.

I have already posted a pic of a huge trash pile in Japan and equated it to my scrap room, so what I hate about it is that it's unusable. It is a nice space and if it was organized it would be functional. It is a small room off the master bedroom that would actually make a fantastic walk in closet.
I pulled everything out of where it was stored several years ago and tried to organize into iris boxes. Well before long I realized that my stash far exceeded my ability to store and sort that way, so everything that didn't fit got left right there on the floor, piled on the tables and in totes.
Since then I have been stashing my stuff in my dining room and in my bedroom.
This week I took off from work. I am going to get everything out of the dining room and back upstairs to the scraproom. The dining room is going to be a dining room again. I am not going to be able to tackle the scraproom really but if I don't run out of time I can maybe get some stuff put away - maybe....
I have some nice Crop in Style storage cubes, a bookshelf where I have my iris cases and the bottom two shelves are completed albums. I have a fantasy of having my brother build a full wall to wall bookshelf for all my albums in my living room. That would give me so much shelf space for my supplies and make my albums more accessible to look at.
I also have a somewhat higher, square pedestal dining room table that I would love to use as a scrapbook table someday if I move to one of the other bedrooms at some point.

Likes: I have a dedicated space that even my kids told me to use when I got a new house after my divorce. I have amazing natural light, which is the complete opposite of my space in my old house. Plenty of storage, and my old furniture looks good in my new house It's in a different space than the main living space, but right next to it, and I don't feel closed off
Dislikes: Not much, no wall space to hang things because of all the windows. But I wouldn't trade that!
