Here is the beautiful cake that my granddaughter made for her boss's little girl's birthday party. I think it's gorgeous! I'm not sure how much she charged for it. She's at work today and took the cake in with her this morning. I'll talk to her later. Thanks again for all the advice you all gave me in estimating a price. I think she really has a talent for this!  |

This is her first pay-for job, correct? She did an excellent job and I compared it to a couple of professional ones I have seen here and came to the conclusion your granddaughter is very talented! Maybe this is her calling?

That is a beautiful cake. Congrats to your DGD. Make sure that she starts her personal portfolio book, with pictures, $ of supplies, technique used and other stuff. This would be for her portfolio. Amounts of special items needed, things that she may need more help in developing different techniques and similar. I have such a personal book for all of the quilts that I have made. The $cost of fabric, the amount (yardage), cutting technique, what might work better in the future if repeating the quilt pattern, personal notes. And of course, a photo. She is off to a great start!  |
