There are about 10 million apps out there for half marathon training, but a lot of them are for people who run already, which I don't. I've signed up for the Tinkerbell half marathon (because Disney) and would love to hear if any of you use an app for training, or what training website you might use.
FWIW, I did a search here to see if there were similar threads, but didn't find any that were relevant.
Thanks!

I wonder if you might have to combine. Maybe look for a CT5K then a CT10K etc.

That's a good idea too. I have a couch to 5K app that's pretty good, but they don't have anything for 1/2 marathon training. I also have until May, so that might give me enough time.

I don't know about apps - but I just wanted to say, "YAY! Jediannie! You can do it!"

Congrats on signing up for Tink! I will be running my second half in February at the Disney Princess. I loosely followed their Galloway training program available on the RunDisney site. Have you seen the one for Tink? It worked well for me as a beginner. If this helps you any, I never straight run long distances, I much prefer intervals with speed walking and running.
Right now I am planning to use a Jenny Hadfield 10K training program in order to train for the 10K I will be running to better my time and corral placement. She has great beginner's programs for several distances including a half. She incorporates strength training in her plans.
Best wishes with your training and run. :-)

Also, with as much time as you have, I suggest doing C25K. Then consider training for a 10K (will you be submitting a time for corral placement?). And then head into your official half training.
This year was my first Princess and I started my training with C25K then dove straight into the half plan. I will be adding the 10K this time.

I don't have advice about which app to use, but wanted to invite you to join us on the runners & walkers weekly threads!

Jeff Galloway all the way! He has apps for all distances. I started with his programs 11 months ago and went from a non-runner to finishing 2 half marathons already and am doing the Disneyland Half on Sunday.

I just checked my RunKeeper App. It has 5k, 10k, half, and marathon training programs. It was free when I downloaded it. Don't be afraid to download a free app and check it out to see if if looks like a good fit for you. Congrats on your training. My girlfriend and I are going to do the Princess 1/2 in 2016.

I was going to say what a PP said - I'd just do the C25k, then B210k (bridge to 10k), then follow a newbie half marathon plan (a la Hal Higdon?)

Jeff Galloway has a fantastic ap. You can get it from the iTunes ap store. He's the official race trainer guy for Disney. He gives seminars at the expo where you pick up your packet. I used his ap to train for the 5K. It's basically run/walk but it works.

I will echo what everyone else said. I used a 5K training program and then switched for 10K once the 5K was easy. After that I started on the 1/2 marathon training one. There are so many out there. I've a favorite, but it isn't a free one. Don't be afraid to start slow and then challenge yourself. Also, thanks to the RP who posted the Jenny Hadfield link. It's one I'd not seen before. Think I'll try it out for the marathon training. Right now I'm just using using the 1/2 marathon training twice.

I really enjoyed the last plan I followed and I'm quite excited to see how I do with the 10K plan. :-)

I started with the couch 2 5k program and then once completed ran on my one for awhile. When I signed up for my first half I used Hal Higdons Novice 1 training program. Loved it! I didn't do any cross training and followed the running program to a tee.
For my second half I am using the same program but the novice 2 programs.
Both are free unless you buy the app. I just printed the schedule from the website and made a calendar to follow.
Have fun!
