As broke as we were, I gotta say that's the one thing my mother splurged on in elementary school was a new lunch box. I had 2 Mickey Mouse clubs (old and new), Charlie's Angels and The Muppets. I still have the Muppets one in my closet (filled with original Little People!), and my step-dad was using the Old Mickey Mouse Club for screws and things once upon a time, but don't know if he kept it or not.

I had Holly Hobby for a couple of years and The Bionic Woman for a year. Then came paper bags.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse metal was the first I recall and then a Strawberry Shortcake metal picnic basket. Seems like I can recall a vinyl like softer Strawberry Shortcake later in school. I still have both metal lunch boxes along with my Strawberry Shortcake metal tray table.

The one I remember the best was my Holly Hobbie one. I had this one too, at one point, but I think my sister took it over.

The only one I vividly remember was yellow plastic and it had a picture of Miss Piggy on a motorcycle on the front of it. No idea what was going through my 8-year-old head when I picked that one out!! I had the same lunchbox!

I also had the metal Holly Hobbie one just like the one pictured. I rarely took my lunch but I loved that thing.

I had a metal Mickey Mouse one. Actually, I still have it. It is displayed in my kitchen. I even have the thermos that came with it.

The one I remember the best was my Holly Hobbie one. That's the one I had! It was my favorite. I also had a cardboard one in the second grade that came with a pair of new shoes. I only used it a few times because I was teased so badly about it. By fourth grade I was sick of getting picked on and came up with a really snappy comeback when someone teased me about the Tupperware lunchbox I had. Brown bags were so much easier. Did anyone else's school do name checks? A monitor checked our bags and we couldn't leave the classroom unless our names were on our lunch bags.

Metal star wars hand me down. I remember having a yellow peanuts thermos so that may have been a hand me down too. That was in kindergarten. I remember getting my first new to me lunch box for Christmas, it was a red soft sided cooler with Garfield on it, wearing a chefs hat. I bought myself a metal Scooby dip one back around 2001 and brought it to the office daily even though it had no insulating features and so I could only bring PB&J. I still have that one :-)

First grade, mid-70s, my mom waited too long to buy a lunchbox for me and all that was left was Pele. So I used a green and white Pele lunchbox all that year. The following year I had a pink plaid one. Much better!

My first lunch box was "Josie & the Pussycats". I know I had Holly Hobby, and wow I can't believe I'm admitting this but, I had a Fonzi lunch box.

He-Man and Scooby Doo are the only two I remember, yet there must have been more because there was NO WAY on this planet I was eating the school slop until high school.

I had a brown bag. But my favorite lunch was a tuna sandwich, a little can of Hi-C, and a ring ding.

Bobby Sherman (Stop laughing) I think I might have had a Bobby Sherman lunchbox too! One of my sisters had really cool Peanuts one in which the lunchbox was shaped like Snoopy's doghouse. I was pretty envious of it.

Another person with a metal strawberry shortcake. Later I think I had a pink plastic Smurfette one too.

Where are all the young girls at I had plastic lunch boxes. I am trying to think of them all. Lady Lovely Locks was one, and there was a Lisa Frank one and I think the third was Cherry Merry Muffin? Anyone remember those?
