thehill.com/homenews/administration/343058-trump-legal-team-spokesman-resigns-report"The chief spokesman for President Trump’s personal legal team, Mark Corallo, has resigned. Corallo confirmed his resignation in an email to The Hill. Politico reported Thursday that his resignation was due to growing frustration with operation and warring factions, as well as concerns over whether he was being told the truth. Corallo, a veteran GOP operative, was working on the White House defense against special counsel Robert Meuller's probe into Russian election interference in the 2016 election. " Move along, everyone. Nothing to see here. A big ole "nothing burger". Trump said to be in check, w/checkmate coming. It will get ugly before it gets better.

What is the status of the Mueller investigation? Is there an estimate on when he will release his findings?

I knew it would be only a matter of time that everyone would self preserve and jump ship.
It really will get ugly before it gets better.

The bigger news is why did he even take the job to begin with since he was so critical of Trump. Guess he wasn't getting enough info to leak to the press.

Vanity Fair drops: How Russia Mercilessly Played Trump for a Fool www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/07/how-russia-played-trump-for-a-fool"All this seems to have been lost on Trump, his retinue of loyalists and hangers-on, and the odd assortment of tertiary characters, like Russian recruitment target Carter Page, who peopled Trump’s campaign. These are not the best Americans. They are nihilists à la Steve Bannon, “idiots” like Page, neophytes like Trump Jr., or opportunists like Manafort. They have acquired, over many months of politicking and quasi-governing, the language of the patriot without understanding what they are saying. Not only that. Their pretend patriotism, their ignorance of American history, its poetries and injustices, its constant existential confrontation with itself, leaves them especially susceptible to the allure of the authoritarian. There is a logic and clarity to the authoritarian, with his shiny toys and Potemkin bullet trains and airport terminals. The authoritarian knows how to put on a good show, and these people love to be dazzled. They are vulnerable to Putin because they admire him while not understanding where he comes from nor who he is. They have no idea whom they are doing combat with. They do not even know that they are engaged in battle, and that the battle is already won."

And they claim Democrats are the conspiracy theorists... He's a veteran GOP operative. It's not outside the realm of possibility that he was hoping to bring some validity to the clown show that has been the administration. Or maybe he just needed a job. He certainly wouldn't be the first person to work for a boss he didn't like.

okay, it's ReALLY sad when your legal counsel resigns because he doesn't believe he's being told the truth... I think Trump's 'circle' is as small as only Jared, Ivanka, and Don Jr. (maybe not even Ivanka, and I'm iffy on Jared.)

"The term 'nothing burger' (or "nothingburger," if you're feeling compounded) is somewhat of an antique. It first appeared in print in the 1950s, when a gossip columnist used it to dismiss an actor. 'After all, if it hadn't been for Sam Goldwyn, Farley Granger might very well be a nothingburger,' columnist Louella Parsons wrote in 1953." www.cnn.com/2017/07/14/politics/nothing-burger-word-history-what-is-trnd/index.htmlI saw this the other day.

nothingburger definition: "It's the hype without the payoff. It's a promise that never delivers. It's a bag of hot air ensconced in a deceptively delicious coating."
ahhhh... I get it now! thank you!! (I still don't LIKE it; something about the word just seems 'clunky' and distasteful to me-- but I understand what they're trying to convey by using it.)

But KAC didn't think too highly or trump early in the campaign, either but has no problems lying for him now, which speaks to her poor character.

I'd like to see the Republicans lawmakers in Washington facing lawsuits for not speaking out against Trump's treason. They currently have no incentive to do anything at all, and our country is at serious risk.

I don't think that's the bigger news at all. It's getting quite funny to see the excuses, the "oh it's not Trump, it's everyone else", and the attempts at deflecting from the Orange cheeto and his appointees and hires. I'm realizing the the conservatives and republicans are bigger hypocrites than any other.

the rats they are a jumpin'... This is big. Really big. Dissent amongst large legal teams is a distraction which eats up precious time and leads to mistakes. Also leaks. However, if Ty Cobb is now in charge I believe this is in DT's favour as he is a much steadier hand. K was a bigger and older buddy to DT but out of his depth. Smart move, DT. So on balance, we shall have to see...

Trump's lawyers all seem like mafia-type bullies. Incredible. Let them all jump ship. They'll all soon realize that he ONLY cares about himself. He'd even throw his own precious princess (Ivanka; not Tiffany, of course!) overboard, if it came down to saving himself. He's a slimy weasel and he's ALWAYS been this way! More and more people are finally realizing it. (Again, so many New Yorkers knew this for decades!)
As a sidenote, we're all learning that things don't appear as they seem. Most people assume that Trump and Jared are "successful billionaire businessmen" but they owe billions to Russians, etc. Ivanka isn't an angel in all of this either. She knowingly has been "raising" $$ for a foundation based in human trafficking. I doubt that those funds will go anywhere but in the pocket of dear ole' daddy. She claims to care about everything being "made in the USA," but her line and her father's line(s) continue to be made abroad, where she has poor women and children working in sweatshops, earning practically nothing to produce her "wonderful" products. It's all bull and she's been a huge part of the swindling and coverup for years! They're all disgusting and I can't wait for this to be overwith.
Even Scaramucci was just tied to owing Russians millions of $$ (if not billions). So much for him being a "self made millionaire". I'm ashamed since he's Italian and from Long Island. I could tell that he was another slimeball the moment I heard him speak.
Hopefully many facts about the Trumps (dating back 25 years or so) will all come out and this behavior will be seen for what it is.

As an Italian-American from NY/NJ, I am aware this could reinforce all the old stereotypes. I sincerely hope his conduct will disabuse me of this notion. I read he's been busy deleting his old tweets bashing Trump. I know someone associated with the lawyer who is leaving and I heard the guy is a big drinker, like many within the East Coast Old Boys Network. Once they start functioning without the screening of their admin assistants, people begin the see their true colors (i.e. drunk texting).

This is the reason I've never watched one episode of "The Sopranos". I'm sure it was a great tv show, but I don't need to see the stereotype of Italian mafia in America. It perpetuates that "greaseball" mentality. Trump's legal team consisted of a few strange bullies. He's had Marc Kasowitz (the elderly man who looks like a cadaver). This is the 'attorney' who represented Trump in divorces and some lawsuits that Trump was eager to begin (which went nowhere). He's the one who got Ivana Trump to retract her testimony claiming that Trump raped her and yanked her hair out of her head so hard that she needed surgery (interestingly, Trump then went to the same surgeon for his hair surgeries). Kasowitz has always been known in NY to be aggressive and not too bright. He fights back with people, curses and is extremely unprofessional to this day. How he hasn't been disbarred is beyond me! John Dowd (I believe) is fairly new. He's a D.C. attorney and supposedly is good at his job, however, he is also very gruff, curses at reporters and gives them the finger. Very professional, eh? Jay Sekulow (another man who resembles a cadaver), has represented many extremist "Christian" groups. He never knows what's going on, sounds absolutely lost, but tries to insist he knows the truth even know he contradicts himself in interviews and sounds moronic, yet he's the one who does media appearances. Ty Cobb is relatively new. He is a longtime friend of Dowd. Mark Corallo, the spokesperson for the legal team, just quit. Maybe he didn't want to be associated with this lackluster group of attorneys. In the past, Trump has had many cases brought against him from the 1970's until now. I WISH that his supporters would have done their research and pulled all of this info up and checked it out. Again, most New Yorkers were well aware of it all and knew him to be a scumbag perv who cheated and bullied people his whole life. Here's a link to a short synopsis of some cases (there are many more--just Google Felix Sater and go back years to see what's there): www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/01/donald-trump-scandals/474726/

Glad we agree. As for a peek into one of 45's supporters, I give my DH (a lifelong Dem). He's from NJ and I'm surprised that he never heard the dirt that I've heard about 45 for most of my life (maybe NJ is more segregated?), but now I keep telling him, "I told you so!!" and I remind him that 99% of the "dirt" he spews about HRC is crap passed on by Russian bots on social media. It's frustrating! I did see the comment about SHS' hair and makeup, but Scaramucci is claiming that he was speaking about his OWN hair/makeup (bullcrap!). He's just another disgusting political creep in 45's circus.

I thought the comment about the hair and makeup was very telling about their priorities and the way they want women to look. It was offensive in my view.
