I know this is a silly question, but what state of open/closed are the doors inside your house, at any given time?
What I mean is this:
When DH and I are home (no children), the master bath door is always closed, as is the water closet, but closet door is open, all the time.
Master bedroom door is always open.
All doors (guest rooms, guest bath, laundry room) in the guest hall are always closed.
When we have company, we leave the master bath closed, master bedroom open, and one guest room, and bath are open (in case there are new people who want to tour the house). One guest room door is ALWAYS closed, because it's a disaster, right now. It's the storage room for all of my scrappy stuff that I do not use on a regular basis, as well as stuff that needs to be donated. So, very few people have seen that room. 😜
Well, that ended up being a very winded explanation! LOL

All closet doors closed... bedrooms n restrooms open unless someone needs privacy... our ac guy said it helps to keep all the rooms cool with the way our house is laid out... so open for my house

If possible all doors are open. I do not like closed doors. BUT with our current cat, bathroom doors have to be closed to protect the toilet paper. Also at times the guest room door is closed depending upon its state. There are times it gets very messy and I don't like looking at the mess. Also, when doors are shut, it gets very dark in the hall and parts of the house. That is another reason I like doors open.

All doors open except the coat closet and the half bath door that is in the hallway off the entry. The door to the basement is always propped open with a door stop so the cats can open it and get to their food and litter. There are no other doors downstairs. All upstairs doors are always open except the guest room - to keep the cats out and the room hair free.

All doors open unless we have guests. My dog is always right behind me so I can't shut doors when I walk through them. When I'm sleeping I like a flow of air so only shut the bedroom door when we have overnight guests. Bathroom door is shut when there is anyone else in the house and I'm using the room!

When I am home, by myself, all the doors are open. This is because in my condo, the a/c & heat vents are by the windows, at the back of my unit. When I have company, only the door to the guest restroom is open. My master suite is closed as is the guest room. Everyone doesn't have to see my personal stuff ('cause it is messy, 'cause I am crafty).

The only door that is always closed inside the house is the craft room. Two dogs and two cats and craft supplies do not mix! When you've had to pull yarn out of your cats asshole you learn that lesson real quick.

The kids' bedroom doors are closed, but our bedroom door generally stays open. Closets are closed. Our closet door slides, and dh doesn't want the cats to hang out in there, so we keep it closed when we're not in there.

Every door in my house including the bathrooms and closets are open all of the time. We have two closed doors on the storage area in the basement that also houses furnaces and hot water heaters.

Bedroom doors are always open except for the guest bedroom which is always closed to keep our dog off of that bed (it has a window that looks out over the front yard and down the street, so we'd never get him out of there). If we're the only ones home, we never close the bathroom doors. If guests are here we leave the main floor bathroom door when unoccupied open with the lights on so people know where it is. Closet doors are all always closed, except for our master bedroom closet which is a room unto itself, and it isn't visible or accessible unless you go completely through our bedroom and a bonus room so no one sees it or the state it's typically in (semi messy, I sort my laundry in there). Mudroom door (main floor) is usually open, but it's typically pretty neat. Main floor laundry room door is always open, the dogs' water bowl is in there and they need to be able to get to it. DH's office door is open unless we're having a party with a lot of people. It's typically a mess. My studio door is almost always closed unless I'm down there, even though if it was open you couldn't see the mess from the doorway upstairs. The thing that kills me though are the freaking cabinet doors. I like them closed, other people don't seem to care what state they're in. For some reason I live with a bunch of cave dwellers who are unaware of how cabinet doors work, and I am constantly going around behind them closing the cabinet doors. And turning off lights. Apparently they don't know how those work either.

Dh works nights, so if he is sleeping, master bed and bath are closes. Otherwise they are usually open unless the kids have friends over. Our walk in closet is almost always open. Ds's both keep their closet door closed because they are a mess. Bedroom doors are open unless they have friends over or the older one closes his whem he sleeps. Spare bedroom is usually open unless it is messy.

All doors are open unless someone needs privacy or is sleeping, except the guest room. That door is always shut because it's a cat-free zone. And of course the basement door is always shut.

Closet doors closed, except oldest DDs. All doors open except when youngest DD is in her room or washrooms are being used.

All closet doors closed. Downstairs- we close the laundry room door to keep the dog out. Door to toilet room is open. Upstairs- All doors closed expect to our Master Bedroom because that is where the cat likes to hang out. We don't want her in the guest room/office or craft space. Door to the master toilet is open. We don't have a door to the master bathroom. So, basically, if we didn't have pets, most doors would be left open, expect closer doors. I must have closet doors closed to keep the evil clown from escaping.

My closet and cabinet doors are always closed. I don't want to look at junk in closets.
All my other doors, including my front and back door are wide open from dawn to late at night, as are all my windows, even in the dead of winter. We only close the front and back door when we go to bed. I don't have screens on my doors either. I like the breeze that blows through my house all day. I am constantly washing curtains as they get really grimy but it is so worth the work to have that breeze and open fresh feeling.

Some open, some closed.
Door to the basement is usually closed. Door from what is now my sewing room to the laundry room is usually open to allow for maximal dehumidification.
If we are running the AC in a zone of the house, the doors to that zone are closed. Bathroom doors are usually almost closed, but not quite. Most bedroom doors are open unless we are trying to keep heat or AC in or out of that room.

This is a funny/interesting topic KikiPea . FWIW - no kids in our house. Master bedroom always open, master bath I leave open but DH closes, master closet always open (it's a sliding barn door) unless we have company Craft Room (BR#2) always open, craft room closet (used for suitcase storage) closed Gym (BR#3) always closed as is the closet Second bath I leave open and DH closes Laundry Room always closed The pocket doors to LR/Dining and Kitchen are always open, except in winter to keep the heat in those rooms

If it opens onto a living area or hallway it is closed, except for the laundry room because the cats have to get to their litter box. As soon as the cats are locked up at night though, all the bedroom and bathroom doors open to help airflow. We have one cat that is a sprayer 😫, so we attempt to keep him corralled by closing roms off while he is up.
Anyone want a hyper neutered male cat, about 10 years old, that loves to claw doorframes and spray furniture? I will even ship his fuzzy a$$ to you on my own dime.

All doors to rooms and the walk-in closet are open to allow for good air flow through the rooms. The pantry doors are often open though it would look better if I would remember to close them.

Closet doors are closed, except the master bedroom and sometimes the pantry closet.
Bedrooms, bathrooms, dens, laundry room - doors open, except that I will sometimes close the door to the guest room/craft room if it's a mess when people are over.
The back door might be open if we don't have the AC on and it's nice outside when I'm home. It opens to our screen porch and it's nice to just go in and out without opening the door.
