I'm thinking about booking a tour that starts in Vegas and takes in the Grand Canyon and up into Utah to Zion and Bryce, etc. I'm trying to pick a date where it won't still be blazing hot in Arizona but before it's too cold in Utah. Thoughts?

We don't cool off till Nov! Utah september is good, it still gets pretty toasty during the day but cools off at night. Before it snows. It's been known to snow in early Oct. how late in the season are you thinking?

I would say you would be fine with October weather wise. Lots of of schools in Utah have fall vacation Oct 19, 20, 23. It will increase crowds in the national parks during that time but it's definitely doable.
