It is possible for baby to turn but I would put a birth plan in place that went with the breech position as the probable situation ... I've had two breech babies by c-section - the second had turned at the last minute

DD had an attempted extraversion with her first breech baby - didn't work and she had a C-section. While they had her opened up they discovered that her uterus was malformed and her babies were unable to turn. She had two subsequent breech babies by CS. Not a usual scenario, I realize, but the extraversion is apparently attempted in cases of breech babies that have not turned by late term. I know they did it in the hospital in case it caused her to go into labor. I have a friend who had a successful extraversion and went on to deliver vaginally.

Both of my sons turned at 36 and 37 weeks respectively. They turned all on their own, no special positions or pushing from me required.

I scheduled an appointment for an inversion, since I was at 37 weeks, but my daughter decided to turn the day before my appointment. I felt her turn and it was painful. It took a little over an hour. She was stubborn then, and she's stubborn now.

Yes, they can turn. I hope this baby does, too. Mine did not, but I have an abnormality for which there is an increase of breech presentations. So I don't count.

D [HASH]2 was breech. The doctor gave me three options 1) deliver baby breech...I'd already given birth vaginally 2) try to turn her manually 3) schedule a csection.
Because my fluid was already low, I did not want to try to turn her and while delivering a baby breech may have been fine, to me, it wasn't worth any extra risk...so I scheduled a csection 10 days before my EDD. The best birth experience of my 3 children.

They definitely can. My youngest was breach and turned the night before my scheduled C-section. It hurt like HELL!

My oldest grand child was a breach presentation. The medical professionals attempted a manual external version on him at 38 weeks. During the procedure something went wrong and my daughter was rushed for an emergency C-section. Whatever went wrong during the procedure, caused brain damage for him. He is now 10 and struggling to get along in school. Just my two cents worth.

My fifth baby turned four weeks before I delivered. I still remember how crazy that felt. I turns out she just had plenty of room--big brother was 10 pounds and she was only eight. The good old days.

My 3rd baby turned at 39 weeks but went from head down to double footling breach. I delivered him vaginally. It hurt more than any labor I had with all 4 kids.
It turned out well but what a stupid chance my OB took to causing severe damage to the baby and to me. I did have bladder damage and have had 3 corrective surgeries and will probably have another.
It was a nightmare. This was 36 years ago and I know it would not be done today, it shouldn't have been a vaginal birth back then.

Mine turned after a failed version on the way to the hospital for the section. I told me dr that he either turned or something really bad happened and he did a quick ultrasound. Sure enough, he was head down. Had him vaginally about 14 hrs later.

Mine turned. She was breech at 33 weeks and I was scheduled for a version on a Monday so I had 4 days to turn her myself. I googled and found that playing music and shining a light up your hoo ha can make the baby turn. I sat at my computer for hours at a time with speakers pointed south and a flashlight in my underpants.
Don't laugh - it freaking WORKED. When I went in on Monday for the version, they did an ultrasound first and said: "yep - the baby turned!" I've never been so relieved in my life. I SO did not want that version procedure.

My youngest one turned on his own at 37 weeks. He was over 8 lbs, but I didn't feel anything different in his movements. Because I had a c-section with my 1st one, they would not have tried to turn him manually.

My twins flopped between breach and transverse up until the end. I think baby A finally went head-down at 37 weeks or so. Which was a big relief. My practice would deliver twins vaginally as long as A was head-down.

My 1st was head down at 37 weeks and tried to turn nack up breech. He got stuck sideways for about 30 min before giving up and going back down. He was born a couple weeks later and weighed 10 lbs. Lordy be I'm glad he didn't turn. My twins were breech and transverse. Never turned and I had a c section with them (6 weeks early)

They can!
I'm here to tell you. If you want to hear. My 4th child was breach. I had appointment to go and have him turned the following week (my Dr. was out of town.)
I went to a candle party....that I didn't want to be at! I felt compelled. I wasn't even near these women or talking to them but I over heard them.
They were saying that when their baby was breach they put a tape recorder playing soft music at their feet while laying down! Crazy right?
I went home that weekend and let me tell you I played all kinds of classical music at my feet. My appointment comes. They prep me tell me it is going to hurt....
Dr. checks me and says the baby turned! I can't tell you how happy I was! I never even noticed! ha!
good luck!

DS was breech when I had my check-up about 3 1/2 weeks before he was due. OB wasn't concerned and said there was plenty of time for him to turn. My water broke the next afternoon so they did a C-section.

Dd was breech until 35 weeks and 2 days. My ob was letting me k ow it can happen for babies to turn this late but if she didn't by 39 weeks I would require a Csection. She started off sideways, then breech.
Ds was turned head down for as long as I could remember.
