This has happened to me twice this month and I haven't ever seen it before.
I find something I want to buy on Amazon, it says it is prime eligible. Then when I go to order it I see it won't be shipped for a few days the first time and a week this time.
It will arrive within 2 days of being shipped but not in 2 days of being ordered. (Not even three days if you don't count the day you ordered as a day)
Everything else I have ever ordered on Prime has arrived 2 or 3 days after I ordered.
Is this a new Prime thing? Or have I just been lucky.
I ordered a rain jacket today for my daughter to take on our trip... now I"m rethinking it as it is supposed to arrive the day before we leave.

It should have said something like, may take extra time to ship or something like that
Prime is pissing me off lately

Yes, I have had things that were Prime and didn't show up for as long as a week and a half later. In fact, something that I bought on Prime day was delivered over a week later. There was nothing to indicate that they were out of stock on anything either. I am not usually in a rush to get things, other than being excited to receive it, but when I am paying for 2-day shipping, I want to receive 2-day shipping.

Happens to me all the time. Prime service really isn't as good as it used to be.

Isn't it about shipping, not ordering? I had a 30-day trial of Prime, and once the item shipped I got it within 2 days. I think I had one item that did not ship for a couple of days, which I think would have happened even if I didn't have Prime. But once it shipped, I had it in two days. I just wonder if some items they actually don't carry in their own warehouses and have to get it from a distributor or something.
But on another note, I recently ordered something (no longer a Prime member) and it was delivered on a Sunday! And it was delivered two days earlier than promised. I really did not need the item on a Sunday.

I think they are showing some items coming in internationally as "prime 2 day" and I agree it's wrong. If I get to the shipping point and am not getting it in two days, I will often back off of buying it unless they are a single source for it...

I've noticed it. And if you order multiple items at the same time, it can effect the shipping time. On Saturday, I tried to order some bins to organize my pantry and a welcome mat. All were to arrive on Wednesday, but it showed as coming in 3 separate boxes. (3 business days, 5 days total.) I went back and ordered them one at a time. The mat was still scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, one set of bins on Monday and another set on Sunday.
Always, ALWAYS look at the arrival dates.

I have noticed more and more items that say they will take a few days to ship. I usually can find a similar item that will ship faster, if I need it quickly. My stuff does always come when promised.

I think there might be a couple things in play. First they've been offering "seller-fulfilled Prime" meaning 3rd party Marketplace sellers can ship prime, they have to promise 2 day shipping and it's supposed to be monitored.....but who knows how well.
Also, awhile back they changed the way sellers send their stuff to Amazon. It used to be that sellers would have to ship to multiple warehouses, now they have it all shipped to a distribution center and Amazon doles it out to their warehouses from there. So it shows "in stock" but really it's more "in route".
If you complain about delayed shipping (that you were not notified about) you can probably get your Prime membership extended by a month.

this has been happening to me a lot lately too. I'm starting to rethink my prime subscription.

I ordered 2 things that were Prime on Thursday, both fulfilled by Amazon. One was delivered on Saturday, the other is supposed to be delivered today. They have been getting worse for sure. If it weren't for the videos I wouldn't renew.

I'm seeing it more and more as well. Ordered something on prime day and it came when it said but it wasn't two days. If they say it will arrive by a certain day and it doesn't you can get your membership extended. I've only had it happen once. I have had things show up early to.
