I looked forward to the weekly reading thread every Sunday. I got so much inspiration from it that I can't thank Batya enough. There is also a thread about it on the admin board where I also offered to start it until Batya shows up, which I'm hoping happens.
I just finished A Time To Kill. On 2peas, it was recommended that I read it before Sycamore Row so that's what I did.
I enjoyed A Time To Kill. The end was far better then the rest of it, which I found a bit slow. I'm happy that I read it though. I'm going to go a bit softer on my next book before taking on Sycamore Row.

I just read the divergent trilogy. Overall, I enjoyed the series. The first book was definitely the best. I was really upset by the resolution in the third book.

I'm another one that loved Batya's reading thread. I looked forward to it every week and followed it for years. I read so many books because of her. I also was known as the best one to pick out books in my reading group and it was all due to Batya's thread on 2Peas that I had that reputation. I have loved to read since I was a kid - it's the best mini-vacation a person can take. Vi

I have just fished In Time. It's a lovely story and available at Amazon. I really enjoyed it! The author's name is Constance Walker.

I'm reading " Dragonfly in Amber" by Diana Galbaldon which is the 2nd book in the "Outlander" series. I finished "Outlander" and loved it so much I immediately started reading the 2nd book in the series. Even though "Outlander" was written 20 years ago I'd always passed it by because I was under the mistaken impression that it was more of a fluff "bodice ripper" style of book-not that those don't have their place. It's just not my style of reading material these days.
"Outlander" surprised me in so many ways. It was so well written, suspenseful and kept me up at night, turning pages to see what would happen next. I loved that book! I have to say it's one of the best I've ever read. These books are long and I'm more than happy about that and even happier that they are a series. I'm 2/3 of the way through book 2 and will be ordering book 3 this weekend to have it on my bed side table in time for when I turn the last page of book 2.

Yes, I'm another lurker who reads them each week, so it would be great to see them continue here. I'll try to post more often, I love to read. Best book so far this year for me was The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

IRL I'm known as someone to ask if you're looking for a good book to read, and it's mostly thanks to the weekly reading thread at 2peas and all of the inspiration I found there. P. Eta - this is my first post here with a quote and I loved how easy it was

I made myself a Goodreads' New Year's challenge to read 75 books this year, but the Song of Ice and Fire series and the Outlander series derailed me because they are so darn long. I'm trying to make up a bit of time by reading some shorter books. Right now I'm reading Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher. It's the first time I've read any of her books. I like it. She's a great storyteller and wonderful at character development. Rosamunde Pilcher's The Shell Seekers is one of my all time favorites.

I am reading The Painted Girls by Cathy Marie Buchanan and am having a hard time getting through it. It's just not holding my attention. I have Dark Places by Gillian Flynn on my Overdrive and it is going to expire in a few days, so I might start that today.

fiddlesticks, I have read DARK PLACES and it's a pretty quick read. Another one of Gillian Flynn's dark novels that is full of unlikeable characters.

OK, my fluff titles this summer will be: S.E.C.R.E.T. Revealed by L. Marie Adeline ... the third in a series that is much better than "50 Shades", hehehehehe!!!! Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich The Wedding Girl by Madeleine Wickham Cocktails For Three by Madeleine Wickham ... and a couple of creepy ones ... NOS4A2 and Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill Then I need to get my hands on the September Book Club book :-) I just finished "Big Girl Panties"....it was an easy "fluffy" read, lol. I liked it. I'd been reading some heavy stuff for a few months and needed something light and fluffy. It was funny...I do hope you get around to it and enjoy it.

I've already read the weekly reading posts but don't think I ever participated. I'm reading The Romanov Sisters but am not that far into it, yet. So far, though, I really like it. This is an area of history that I'm not familiar with, so I'm learning a lot.

I'm rereading Outlander in anticipation of the series premier in August. Haven't done too much reading the past week due to a nasty sinus infection. I hope Batya continues the weekly reading thread.

I'm currently reading The Summer of Katya. My DH gave me a copy years ago, but I really like reading on my Kindle, so I bought it there and am finally reading it.

I have "The Dinner" and couldn't get into it for the first 80 pages or so, so skimmed a lot. It's a little better now, but still not half way finished.
Also have "A Hundred Summers".

I was depressed at the thought the reading posts were over! I've read so many good books because of it. I'm so happy to have found this board.

I've read that - I participated in a Reading Challenge a few years ago, and one of the challenges was to read a book from a region where your ancestors were from, and I have Basque ancestors. Hope you enjoy too!

I am reading The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye for bookclub this month and loving it so far. It is an epic story of which I am about half way through it. For my morning walk, I am reading the YA novel, Catherine Called Birdy by Karen Cushman and enjoying it as well. I walk when I read in the mornings, and The Far Pavilions is simply too big to carry and walk briskly with. Wow, I'm impressed! If I walked while reading I would be flat on my face in seconds (or veering off the path)

I'm reading the latest book in the Outlander series, Written in My Heart's Own Blood. It was worth the wait!
Honestly, I was a bit apprehensive after the last one, Echo in the Bone. I slogged through that one. I need to reread it to see what I am forgetting. But, it is not something I am looking forward to. It was so chopped up.
Did I ever breathe a sigh of relief at finding she didn't chop this one up into tiny pieces.

Hi Refugee Peas Who Read (and adore Batya!)
I finished the newest Stephen King book, Mr. Mercedes. It was a great read! More of a classic thriller than his other books.
Next, I picked up Rainbow Rowell's latest adult novel, The Attachments. I'm about halfway through and I'm enjoying it. I love Rowell's kooky characters and lovable losers.
Happy Reading!

One of my first thoughts when I saw the boards were closed was how much I would miss the reading thread! I was mostly a lurker but am determined to be more a poster with the new board.
I am currently reading Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen. Her book Gardenspells is one of my favorites.

Listened to Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick today. Loved it. I didn't know it was a movie! Yesterday I listened to Circle of Stars by Jacquline Mitchard. Loved it as well.

I am so ecstatic to have found you all!!! So shocked when I went to 2peas this morning and was greeted with the terrible message that they closed. I sent pea-mails to Batya and Sock Monkey in utter despair, hoping my outreach would not be in vain! Then, I got the bright idea to Google, lol. I knew the peas could not be disbanded so easily! This thread has always been my favorite, although I've been delinquent of late. Currently reading "The Liars' Club" by Mary Karr. I love that so many of you are reading the Game of Thrones books. They are awesome. I read the first three books a few years ago and want to reread as my brother just broke a crazy theory to me last night. Plus, I need to reread 1-3 so I can read four and five before next season of the tv show. Anyhoo-- so glad we have been reunited!

But if you wstch the movie beware. It is very different from the book and you have to think if it as its own thing. As usual I liked the book a hundred times better than the movie.
