I like the idea of "work stations" or at least keeping like supplies together - what do you keep in the same bin, drawer or shelf? I have the following:
adhesives, distress inks, tool caddy (with basic supplies on desk)
More thoughts and ideas?

I like the idea of "work stations" or at least keeping like supplies together - what do you keep in the same bin, drawer or shelf? I too like the idea of separate work stations for different tasks, etc. since I do more than just scrapbooking/paper crafts. I think I have a good idea of what I ultimately want to do in my studio, just waiting on the fund$ to come through so I can get going. One side of my basement studio has my big desk and three work tables. This is the part of the basement that has daylight windows, so it's where I work. Along the back wall I'm going to have a bank of cabinets where I think I will store stamping and card making supplies, as well as paints and other mixed media type stuff. My stamp collection will be able to go in the now-empty closet. In the corner of that room I want to put a bakery rolling rack for scrapbooking projects in progress with a Clip-It-Up on top that I can use to clip up whatever miscellany I have for the project(s) I'm currently working on (which I keep in themed bins the rest of the time). Another Clip-It-Up can go on the counter to hold alpha stickers (I don't tend to have a lot of these) or other miscellaneous one-off embellishments that aren't themed. The windowless side of the basement is where I keep bulk cardstock racks and bulk patterned paper that I use for my page kits, stored out of the light so it doesn't fade. This side of the basement is where I will be putting in desk height cabinets and permanent work stations for my sewing and embroidery machines so they can stay set up all the time. Additional wall shelving will go above these cabinets and I think I will store my fabric stash and sewing projects in progress there, along with all of the bulk embellishments I keep in ArtBin bead boxes sorted by type and then by color. My old school Accu-Cut machine and dies will be in this area too, since they will probably be used more for general crafts than for scrapbooking. Once the cabinets and shelving are in and my stuff has been unpacked and put away, the storage and utility area in the basement that is now full will be empty (ha ha, yeah right!) so I can finally move the other 25 boxes of junk for my studio down from the walk-in closet upstairs, and then that can finally be transformed into the proper mud room that I know in my heart that it really wants to be! Can you tell I've been thinking about this project for far too long?!?

I keep like things together .... ink pads, adhesives/glues/glue dots, cardstock by color. I have one wall of about a dozen cubes that I have my supplies in and a table I use to scrap on.

I have industrial shelving in my room. so I use a shelf for a grouping of stuff.
I have a die cut area, all machines, dies, embossing folders and accessories. Smash book area and journal tags etc. Inks, paints, re inkers, markers, pencils
Adhesives
stamps--my nightmare
I use the 4 drawer cubes for a lot of stuff...everything is labeled.
Bling in one drawer, glitter in another, etc etc
6x6 pads fit great in there.
Ribbon, fibres, fabric, twine on a shelf.

I have something like this: veggie trayonly it is blue melamine for patio tables, from walmart, and was fifty cents. I keep my loose items in there. pins and flair in the middle, and the items that come in ephemera and doo dads packages in the other areas. it sits on my desk so I can rifle through it. if it's not out I won't use it. then, I have a four tiered stacking, rotating storage tray thing from the tool department (looks similar to the above but with no middle cup) in which I keep veneer, washi, clips, etc. tool departments offer all sorts of storage solutions!

I'm tempted to buy some of the four tiered spinning things from Harbor Freight, but hesitate because I'm not sure what I would put in them yet. I figure it will be best to wait until I get the big stuff organized before I start worrying about all the little stuff.

Yes, I keep like items together in space that is just the right size. When an item outgrows the space, it's time to purge. I have a little chest with 6 apothecary drawers that contain the following: brads, adhesives, wooden stamps, cling stamps, stamp pads, misc. tools. All of my embellishments (bling, wood, twine, etc) are in a see-through shoe organizer hanging on the back of the door. I have a carousel-type washi dispenser that I keep in a hat box with some loose washi rolls. My letter stickers and die-cuts are in a couple of decorative suitcase-type boxes. I have some other baskets on the shelves of my project table that have trimmers, flowers and larger tools (cropadile, Xyron). The only thing on my work table top besides a lamp is a small spinning tool holder for scissors, tape, pens and things I use for just about every project.

I'm trying to figure this out now. I pulled the contents of three drawers out last night and have them laying on the floor. I think it will be paint stuff, stamp stuff, and then a catch-all drawer?
