Maybe I should post this in NSBR...but it is still SBR!
Can anyone recommend any charming little scrapbook or stationary type stores in San Francisco or the central coast area?
I am going on vacation there soon and love to pop into little shops to purchase embossed cards and things like that. Actually if you have any recommendations at all for vintage shops, housewares, restaurants... Share your CA wisdom.
Thanks!

By Central Coast, do you mean Monterey/Santa Cruz or the San Luis Obispo area? Both areas like to lay claim to this title, LOL.
Regarding SLO, there is NOTHING here anymore. At one time, we had 7 LSS but they are all gone. We have 2 Michaels and a Beverly's which is a great craft store with some scrapbook stuff but only 2 or 3 current lines at a time. That's kinda' it.
I'm not sure about north of me. Years ago, I visited LSS in Santa Cruz and Monterey, not sure if they still exist. There's a Hobby Lobby in Morgan Hill. South of that, there is nothing on the coast until you hit the LA area.

It's a California chain store, with fabrics and a little bit of everything, but the paper section is messy {shudder}. Beverly's is in Monterey also. There is Michael's in Marina (between SCruz and Monterey) and Salinas and as mentioned Hobby Lobby in Morgan Hill. The BEST scrap store around is Scrapbook Island in San Jose. Love it !

Thanks for the help! Too bad there's not many LSS type stores anymore. I have enough chains on the east coast! Sometimes I can find things in souvenir type shops, I guess I can always resort to postcards!

I live in Salinas, which isn't far from Monterey--we've got nothing besides Micheal's (the Salinas one stinks, the best one in is in Marina) and Monterey has a Beverly's (which is fun to browse, but never has any sales) and Tuesday Morning (which is really hit or miss). I haven't run across any stationery shops in Monterey--Salinas & Marina definitely don't have any, but trust me, you don't want to come to Salinas anyway.
